What a beauty! Any chance of a USN variant?

He already answered that on the first page - the Navy version is the R6D-1.

I think..(!) a tad less shiny on the wings, and a bit more on the fuselage. Lets say 20% less on the wings, and 10% more on the fuse. Look good, want to use the parts on my KLM version.. :-)

Nah..not interested in the Air Force one livery. Just the MATS one and probably one of the navy birds also.
Thanks Eric!!!

Tom....quick question...would you know where the rear of the nose gear well texture is from? I see something there, as if its from some part of one of the bitmaps, but I just cant tell. I'd like to paint this to match. This is what happens when painters go looking around too much! As i said, tweaking some if not ALL the parts.

Hi, Here is where it is mapped to the right aft texture - you can see it outlined in little red squares: Hope this helps,

Got it! Found that spot, the texture i was using did not quite look like that...hmmmm...Anyway, decided to throw some color onto this one.....next up, the MATS bird. I have not messed with the alphas yet for the dayglo/lettering, will take some work. This was just to get stuff lined up and positioned correctly.

I thought the VC-118 were all VIP haulers and not cargo.

The VC-118 I used for the non dayglo paint sure looks like a "combi" to me.

AFAIK all the C-118A's had cargo doors, and could be used in freighter, combi, or pure passenger configurations. While passenger/troop hauling and aeromedical flying were probably the most common uses, they flew cargo missions as well.
While the VC-118A's probably didn't fly cargo, all the ones I have pictures of retained the cargo doors, front and rear. My MATS book says "The cargo doors were sealed shut and an extra window was installed in the rear cargo door. Passenger accommodation ranged from 18 to 29." BTW, it appears there were only 4 true MATS VC-118A's (all based at Andrews AFB) - these appear to be C-118A's instead.
Hope this helps,
