A new sound package I am building for a new Saab 340 that will released at simviation when finished as freeware. I still have a lot of work to do for this sound pack..... but here is a small preview of a work in progress saab340. Model designed by Brett Henderson and sound package by me. www.youtube.com/watch?v=YOMVp7ts75M

Is this for FS9 or FSX?

This is exciting! I've been looking for a decent 340, so I can create an Air Rarotonga livery ;D

Sounds pretty good! The only comment I can make about the engine sounds themselves is that they sound a little "tinny" at high power, more like a Beech 1900. That may simply be the YouTube video, though.
The Saab has a single electric hydraulic pump for the landing gear and brakes. It doesn't run continuously. When system pressure drops to 2100 psi, the pump runs the system pressure up to 2900 psi, then shuts off. System pressure increases to approximately 3000 psi as the pump shuts down. The end result is what we called the Saab's "mating call": an approximately three to five second loud squeal as the pump runs every few minutes. It is very audible in the cockpit, as the pump is located in the nose gear bay.
You might try including the pump sound with your landing gear sound, as the pump also runs continuously as the gear cycles in either direction.
I love the fact the you included the feathering "roar" during engine shut down. Is the sound cued to feathering the props, or shutting down the engines? Normal procedure is to feather both propellers, complete your shutdown flow (generators, ice protection, etc), and then move both condition levers to FUEL OFF. The feathering sound should be separate from the shut down sound, but I'm not sure if FS will let you do that.
I can't wait! Keep up the excellent work.

This a very early version of the sound.....its not complete. I still have a ton of work to do on it..... But will do my best to make sure the sounds come close to the real thing.

Victor Sounds like a great package developing. I use one of your previous works for a CV-580 and to me it is very realistic. Thanks for the good work. Warren

Hi all I use one of the FSX packages Victor offered for the P-3 -- perhaps the latest with updates but I'm not sure. It seems to work well in FS9 and provide a faithful rendering-- especially of the startup as far as I can recall. Don't think I changed much so it might be possible to improve it even more. I also tried the one for the Allison 501 / C130 -- same author -- but it didn't work as well for me. Available on AVSIM. Certainly takes me back when those big thundering turbo props wind up. All the best! Warren
