All,
Does anyone have a copy of Pan Am: An Airline and Its Aircraft by R.E.G. Davies? If so, does it also include National's history and fleet details?

Hi,
No, it does not. I has one page about the merger, and the only fleet details are the DC-10's after becoming Pan Am aircraft. There is also a Machat drawing of a Pan Am DC-10. I don't see any other National references (other than National leasing PAA 707's in the late 50's).
The only book I have on National is "National, Airline of the Stars A Pictorial History" by George W. Cearley, Jr. from 1995. It has a National fleet list at the back.
Hope this helps,

Tom,
It does help. Thanks. I've been trying to find the Cearley book for a while now. I've come across it in several places, but I'm trying to find a new copy.
Do you happen to know if he's still publishing?

Hi, I can post the address in the book to order new copies, but that was over 12 years ago. I haven't seen a new copy of the book offered at the usual places for years. I'll get the address and post it soon. The book was self-published, apparently. If you have specific questions about the NAL fleet, don't hesitate to ask.
