Hi, everyone.
This is my first post here. I´ve been lurking for years...
I loved classic airliners (DC-3 and -6 mainly) in FS9. Then I had a time with no flight sim activities. Now I´m back with new pc and FSX. I have not used 2D cockpits with FSX, but I have not been able to find any good old propliner with high quality vc. What would be the best choice for me, or is there any?
I fly mainly with Flight1 PC-12 and ATR but they are way too modern for me, default C172 (too small...) and MAAM-SIM DC-3 which has a virtual cockpit but it´s not up to the standards of the first two I mentioned.
So, please let me know if there is a propliner for me. With good flight dynamics (that´s why I´m here!), good looking, not too modern and with that precious clickable vc!
Thanks in advance,
Kiki

Hello Kiki, Welcome to this great forum. For a start I would advise you to have a look at the fabulous range of propliners Jens B. Kristensen has created. The range covers many British and American classic propliners (landplanes and seaplanes) from the Avro Tudor to Short Solent. They all have VCs Another gem is the Lockheed L-1649A Starliner by Manfred Jahn and many others. Being a Dutchman myself I have to mention the Douglas DC-2 by the UIVER Team. Also a gem. (see home.hccnet.nl/r.cappers/dc2/)Before I forget I should mention the great Curtiss C-46 Commando by Libar Guzman, Tom Gibson, FS Aviator (I'm forgetting several other names; sorry about that, guys ) and input from many members of this forum. Cheers, Maarten

Hi Kiki... The default FSX DC-3 has a pretty good VC. Other liveries may be had by searching AvSim.com and FlightSim.com. www.DC3AIRWAYS.COM has a wealth of information about DC3s as well as some FSX related panels which improve the default panel (both 2D and VC) greatly, IMHO. Roy

Thanks in advance, Kiki a For payware options there's the A2A Boeing 377, with a fantastic VC, but very complicated if you're using the systems modeling add-on (accusim). If you're looking for freeware, Manfred Jahn's new Starliner is bar none the best freeware VC out there! The above statements are of course just my opinions

Thanks, fellow prop-heads!
So many good options to choose from. I´ll have great fun searching which one(s) of these would suit my taste!
