Been a while gang! Nice to see some folks are still plugging away on FS2004. I recently gave up on FSX and got a one month developers licence for P3D V3. It runs smoother, but is still too much for my current system. SO I fired up my SilverWings FS and got back at it. Just one question for Chris, is the southeast package still a possibility?

Hi ,
Sorry for the delayed response. The Southeast is still very much a possibility.
After a while away from developing to take care of some personal problems, I have finally nearly finished the major buildings of Heathrow and will get to work with Tom and Bill to get it all up and running.
Canada has been shelved briefly to allow development of Heathrow. I will continue it immediately afterward.
The northeast has also been briefly shelved, I predict it will come out just before Canada.
Sorry for the long delays on these.
Chris

Nice work. In your original post you asked for suggestions. So here's a suggestion. Manaus, Brazil. Not only a good stopover for flights to South America, but it's also a sprawling harbor, so there'd be lots of space for CalClassic AI cargo ships and perhaps even a floatplane base.
Thanks.

Not looking to distract you, but is West Michigan airports still a possibility? Grand Rapids is my home base. Thought of doing it myself but I'd have to go through scenery design 101 first.

South America is (I believe) being taken care of, though I don't know if this one is being done. I'll look into it some, but it will be quite a bit before it ever saw the light of day because I would like to clear my plate for the most part before taking on any more projects 'for sure'. Sorry if this disappoints Now don't distract him from Heathrow, please. Play nice Not looking to distract you, but is West Michigan airports still a possibility? Grand Rapids is my home base. Thought of doing it myself but I'd have to go through scenery design 101 first. Many airports throughout the midwest and northeast (including Michigan) will be included in the larger Northeast US release, which will come after I release the major airports (Boston, Philly, Cleveland, etc.) individually. On the subject of learning it yourself, very soon on my website I will be coming out with a tutorial to take you from having never touched an FS development program to making basic scenery's quickly and easily. I'll let you know when it's out if you are interested. The current game plan of releases is Heathrow, Northeast major airports one by one (DCA, BOS, new highly optimized JFK, LGA maybe?, EWR, CLE, DTW, MSP, PHL, PIT) probably alongside Canada at around the same time, then the Northeast more minor fields and airports alongside the Southeast. Then I'll pick one of my under consideration projects to begin on. I'm doing my best not to change this plan as I've been trying to get this stuff rolling for a long while and simply lacked the time/ability.

Is anybody aware that Rome Fiumicino is the missing link for classic scenery in most all of the flights going from Europe to Africa, and from Europe to the Middle East/Far East and vice versa? The airport's first day of use was August 20, 1960 and the official opening was January 15, 1961.
Anybody interested in a single airport project?

There's no need to be sorry or apologize. They're your projects and your time and no one has any right to make demands of your time. I find all this scenery work fascinating. There is no market product that recreates this golden age of flying and I'm grateful to modding community and especially CalClassics. I bought FS2004 specifically to update.....or rather backdate the scenery. So keep up the good work.

Hello friends, For the past few days I've put my attention into something I hope you guys will like My previous version of Washington DCA 1960 is (quite frankly) terrible in my personal opinion; I became lazy with it and it shows. Luckily though, a much better version has been worked on over the past few days specifically while I take a short break from Heathrow (if I work on any one project for too long I just burn out on it... probably why I take on so many at once. Variety helps) Most of the past few days of work has been poured into making the surrounding area more accurate to the real world in 1960, because both my previous version and the default FS2004 landlcass is terrible and looks nothing of the real world. Here are some comparison shots of all the work. Please note that this isn't 100% done yet and there are still things left to work on. Any weird terrain artifacts are the result of the mesh I personally use, and you won't see these if you use the default mesh. Having any addon mesh wont affect the usability of this version, it just might produce a few strange artifacts in some places though. I find them easy to overlook. These are top down views showing most of the landclass and Sbuilder work. The best way to see all the differences is to open each image in its own tab and click between them quickly, it makes differences immediately apparent. These two shots show the difference between the 2014 and the new V2 version at the main terminal area. Again, this is still a work in progress. The roof textures of the new version are definitely going to be tweaked. And finally, just for fun and one of my favorite views of the airport, flying the river visual into runway 18. Now, back to Heathrow before Tom gets mad... (sorry!) Chris

Hi, LOL! I don't mind a bit of diversion too. That is looking great, thanks. But of course I'm looking forward to Heathrow too!

To Defender, I must confess to forgetting I'd posted in this thread. Just read your advice about changing the KBOS runways back to 33L/15R. Also admit to never using AFCAD. Downloaded latest version and installed it w/i FS9. I can find my way around OK and was able to change the labeling of the runways as well as changing the 4/22 runways to allow both T/O and landing. Problem is though, when I save the changes in AFCAD, they don't change in FS9. Is there some interface that I'm missing.
I'd like to investigate AFCAD further if I can move past this issue.
Please help, Mike
