I was considering doing an afcad for George AFB, location: Victorville CA in the Mojave desert, I believe it was called Victorville Army Airfield during WW2 but later changed it's name. I think it is closed now as an air force base but opened as SCLA - Southern California Logistics Airport. The code for it is KVCV, I looked on FS and it's there with parking, I altered the stock afcad and added a few more parking spots, I am between opening it up again as Victoville Army or even adding some flights as it is to KVCV-SCLA.
Tom or others might have more info about the place???

Hello Tom, Thank you, I got some info from there, it's one of those things, you look then wonder, then look in FS, then start things moving, input aircraft, write flight plans etc etc.

Don't know if I could be of help but I was stationed there in the early 70's when the base was full of all types of aircraft. F4c, F4d, F4e, t29a, Uh1, HH43 and later F105g. we also got so see quite an assortment of new and old aircraft when Edwards AFB was having a dust storm, planes would divert to George to wait it out. One a Coast Guard Albatross came in on emergency after a prop went into full reverse while climbing over the mountains around LA. If I can shed any light on the area let me know.

There is some military flying activity into Victorville to this day but it is now largely a civilian field.
And it is a favorite "parking airport" for airplanes the airlines no longer need or can afford. There are typically a good number of 747s of all variations and the 2 engined Boeings parked all over the place.
It is also home base for I think two different UAV programs still in development.

That great fellas, thank you.
The parking in the stock afcad isn't that good, I've added a few more but still limited, I wonder where they put the ones mentioned above, I'll google-earth it and see if I can see anything.
Don mentioned a USCG Albatross going in there on emergency, slightly off topic but I wish we could get ai aircraft to divert sometimes to simulate things like this, I mean if there was a divert trigger to make the flight plan a bit random, so if an ai aircraft was in flight it suddenly changed course and found the nearest airport to land at, the trigger could be something like the TNG that we input, just wishful thinking.
