DC-6A As DC-6, cargo version, lengthened fuselage, 2 cargo doors, reinforced floor, engine upgrade. Produced 1949 - 1958 Douglas Santa Monica, California civil reg. 42901 civil reg. mixed 43296 to 45551 Total: 074 I know Northern Air Cargo ran a few of those...and may still have one or two in active service. And Everts Air Fuel in AK has at least 2 still in active service. A few nice pics of Cargo variants on this site : www.ruudleeuw.com/dc6.htmAt the VA I belong to our motto is simple: No one delivers more beer to coastal communities than Viva! www.vanisleva.comSo a nice cargo hauler is always much appreciated Stefan

Hi,
The DC-6A was essentially identical to the DC-6B externally (except for the cargo doors). The DC-6 (Jens' model) was shorter.
Hope this helps,

.... By any chance is there a cargo version for the DC-6 in the latest model or on the drawing board Stefan A big thank you Jens for another classic propliner. I'd also love to see the cargo version of the DC-6 with an opening cargo door. Please ;D Pete.

I will certainly add my thanks to Jens for his never-ending work. I notice requests in this and other threads for other variations and models but I think more than enough has been done for us already.
I'm going to ask a silly question now. I have just noticed that a lot of the texture names correspond to those in the Cal Classic DC-6. Are they interchangeable? My reason for asking is that it would be good to rationalise my DC-6 folders. I have quite a few as I split them for different fuel capacity for Short and Long Range variations and with a "late model" now too . . ..

The names are the same but the mapping is not...so the will most likely not work. Only tried it with V1, but since my V1 repaints I made for ViVa and Everts still work on V2 I am guessing that it is still the case.

Hi,
Jens told me he started with Greg's textures but the mapping ended up somewhat different, so they aren't compatible.
