In the Fifties they were at least two great nature documentary films honored by Oscars: Walt Disney's "The Living Desert" and "Serengeti Shall not Die" done by the zoologist Bernhard Grzimek.
Grimzek primarly was well known in Central Europe. Therefore a short extract what Wikipedia says about him: "Grzimek is most famous for the work he undertook for the conservation of the Serengeti. He spent several years studying the wildlife there along with his son Michael, especially on areal observation and counts of large scale annual migrations".
For these purposes they used a Dornier Do 27, painted with an eye-catching zebra stripped pattern and which became as famous as Grzimek himself. The plane was registered as D-ENTE ("Ente" means in German "duck"). Unfortunately during the shooting the plane collided with a vulture, crashed, and son Michael was killed.
I intended to recreate some situations while using the Dornier Do 27 available since several years now.
The Dornier Do 27 at HTSN Seronera airfield as presumed base camp (Seronera is part of "Africa 1960" scenery)
Flight over a group of elephants ...
gazelles ...
rinos and female lions
(the animals are part of the quite old but still suitable LAGO FS Scenery Enhancer 2004, the plane is flying partly as AI, partly as static object).

Hi, very nice. But I'm also shocked, because I do not remember that I have created this airfield..... Seems I have to say Hello to Mr. Alzheimer Cheers Wolfgang
