Since installing the CV-340 I have been trying to find a Hawaiian Airlines re-paint that will work in FSX. I found some for FS2004, but they did not work. I then found one on website "tripletails.weebly.com, but no downloads are allowed from that site. I also tried taking the ai CV-340 from the Classic Scenery packs and using the "Adding Liveries" instructions trying to make that work. Can get the cockpit but the aircraft is just black.
Anyone know of a Hawaiian Airlines classic re-paint that will work in FSX or is there a way to get the ai textures to work in the base pack?
Thanks,

Hi,
The AI textures are not compatible with the flyable model. The HQ model should work with the flyable textures; we can probably get that working for you.
That said, I've used the flyable 340 in FSX with little problem. What is the problem you are seeing? Perhaps we can help.

Thanks Tom. The United CV-340 works fine...no issues with it showing up. I'm only looking for a Hawaiian Airlines repaint for FSX to add to it.
I did find this morning an older post from you (couple of years ago) where someone else was looking for some repaints from the "tripletails.weebly.com" web site and you said you had several from that author. Since the site shows one available for FSX for Hawaiian Airlines on the CV-340 do you have that?
Thanks again.

Hi,
Sorry, Frank has told us that we are not allowed to send any of his repaints to anyone.
There is at least one CV-340/440 Hawaiian repaint out there, and it displays fine on my machine. Have you tried that one?

Tom,
To bad...looked like a nice repaint.
I found one by Brian Smith on Avsim for 2004 which I loaded but got an error message when I tried to launch. Also found one on FlightSim (don't remember the author) for 2002 but when the 2004 version did not work I didn't even try the 2002 version. Only other one that came up on my Google search was the one by Frank.
Which one works on your machine (I'm running FSX)
Thanks,

You should NOT run the entire aircraft, only add the Hawaiian livery to my 340 Base Pack.
You will get warning messages when you first load the plane, about gauges (usually ending with .gau). Allow this to Run, and then say Yes that you want to trust this file. You'll never get those messages again.

I added the Brian Smith version and added the panels and it is mostly fine...no medal on the right cowl and like a layer of ice crystal's over the body so have emailed Brian to see what he says. Did not get any error message but I followed the "Adding Liveries" file for everything else.
I think I know why it didn't work the first time...he had the sim line as "cv-340" so I just copied the United section and changed what I needed to per your txt instructions.
Again, thanks...now to put in the Shell Truck next.

Finally...success...after some work on the Hawaiian Repaint for the CV-340. Never could get the Brian Smith version to look correct (the Ice Crystals over the whole body) so downloaded the repaint from FlightSim.com (never found an authors name). That worked fine except the black cowl on #2 engine. So I noticed there were instructions in the Livery Install file, of the Base Pack, for the "DC-6 only" to copy the cowl files from the base pack and add the number 2 to the file name...so I duplicated the cowl files from the United CV-340 texture and added a 2 to both file names and that fixed it.
Now...ready to fly.
