I am starting with a 1950-60's airport project, Leopoldville in the former Belgian colony, Congo. (Now Kinshasha). Currently able to manage it quiete wel, but I would to delete some autogen area's. Whats the easiest way to do this ? Also, to remove other nearby airports I guess I am right to use afcad to remove all runways etc ? and with exclbuilder te rest of them ? With exclbuilder I was not able to remove the default tower.. any reason why? For the rest it seems to go well. stay tuned.

Hi Johan,
excluding autogen buildings does function with excbuilder.
Best Regards

Easy-peasy with AFX, if you don't mind paying for a really useful utility.
You just draw a box in your AFCAD2-like file.

Now, that's a bit of a surprise, to say the least... Sounds quite promising, a scenery for N'Djili - I can hardly wait... ;D

Hi, can you email me the approach plate ? I cant open it in imageshack for some reason
To enhance the airports isnt that difficult, but I need to get rid of a lot of autogen buildings, and the ground texture.. the rest I did successfully today :-)

Hi, You can use DefArea to remove the airport polygon (see the thread on removing power poles): calclassic.proboards55.com/index.cgi?board=general&action=display&thread=699For the autogen buildings and trees, you have to use "All Objects" when using ExcBuilder. How I use it: 1. Go into Slew mode (Y) 2. Go into Top Down view (Ctrl-S) 3. Press the Space Bar to point true north. 4. Slew to the upper left of your exclude area. Click the two buttons in the upper left of ExcBuilder 5. Slew to the lower right of your exclude area. Click the two buttons in the lower middle of ExcBuilder. 6. Select to exclude Generic Buildings and Library Objects (for example), or select All Objects to get rid of the autogen trees and buildings. 7. Click the Generate XML button. 8. Click the Generate Exclude File button. I give mine names that start with x (xklax_terminal.bgl). Others use names that list them at the top of the alphabet. Move the resulting .bgl file from your ExcBuilder folder to your scenery's folder. Hope this helps,

Hi Tom,
I managed to do this all, but they dont wont go away. Is it I am using FSGlobal and Ground Evnvironment? it shouldnt, Ill guess..
Anyhow, I tried this evening with Rwy12 and got some good results, altough its a pain, EZ would be better, but I dont have it, and wont buy for this single airport yet.
I teamed up a bit with Okami, who has a great knowledge of Sabena, and her destinations, so it will be come up nicely.. its something different then FDE work..(!)
Anyhow, if the result is finished, we have a great stopover point on the way to south africa.
Johan

Hi,
The usual reason they don't work properly is forgetting to face due north (press spacebar while in slew mode). Other than that, they've worked for me every time...
Wait! I remembered one more thing you have to do - you have to set the decimal separator in Windows Regional Settings to a period (.). Many people have this set to the comma (,).
Hope this helps,
