Hi.
Could anyone tell me of a tutorial for removing the crshbox in a gmax model ? I've tried reading the tutorial in the FS2004 gamepack "attach tool", but I'm not getting it because it's not working for me.

Hi,
The only thing I did was add the last three lines listed below to the makemdl.cfg file that sits alongside my makemdl.exe file. It contains the following:
[Settings] LastDir=C:\FS\GMax\Scenes [Options] Crash=0 Keep=0
This keeps the temporary files, and turns off creation of the crash box in the MDL. I use it for my scenery creations.
Hope this helps,

Hi,
Have you exported a model yet? It may not be created until then. Export something first.
If that doesn't do it, wherever your makemdl.exe file is, just create a new text file called makemdl.cfg in the same folder and add those 3 lines to it.
Hope this helps,

Ok, I fownd the makemdl.cfg. That seems to be working.
I don't think that I've been exporting the model right. Well here is how been exporting, in the gmax program when I'm ready to make the model, I go to file and just hit the Export. That is why there was no makemdl.cfg.

Hi,
That's what I do too - File/Export. Then select Scenery MDL or Aircraft MDL, depending on what you are creating. Works for me.
I don't remember if I had to create the cfg file or not - I think I did.
Take care,
