Hi,
Recently I bought a saitek yoke system, with throttle and rudder. Before I had only a ch yoke.
All fine, but the rudder is giving me a head ache.
I disabled autorudder, assigned the right axis, sensitivity to the max, calibrated.. the whole traject.
Now, when for example with a DC3 on the ground steering with the pedals is no problem. All fine.
Then, takeoff reasonable well, controll gets less (?) and not more. Not tried with a crosswind, but it feels like I cant keep centerline.
landing, well , thats another story.. it seems almost impossible to keep on the runway with the rudder pedals. With autorudder is goes well, but without.. a mess
Tried with the piper cub, and the thing is dancing around like a maniac.
Someone care to share the secret ?
Johan

Johan,
With the rudder pedals, you need to adjust out the null zones pretty wide - around 50%. Also, with the DC-3 make sure to lock the tailwheel before takeoff and landing - helps alot. And, practice!!

It seems to me some FDE's are truly off the mark, rudder authority should decrease with speed, and not vice verse. I'm looking into the airfiles to see where the fault is. Some behave well, some dont.
