Hi, On my "reinstalling from scratch", I've begun with the Classic Core/Landclass for KLAX and KSFO. No problems with textures loading quickly. (My reason for starting over was scenery {ground and buildings} weren't loading after FS was up for a couple of hours.) Next, I installed the Ocean Stations and went and checked out each boat. There was a "hang time" on the loading of all but the deck texture sheet....up to infinite if I just left it alone. I tried several different formats for the US texture set, but I didn't really notice an improvement til I took out the mipmaps. Once I did that, no hangs on loading, with no noticeable hit on framerates. Were these boats located with EZScenery or similar software? That's the only other time I've run into this kind of lag. I know my machine isn't new, but the NVidia 7600GTX isn't that bad a card. Anyone else flown low and slow over these boats and had this problem? Yours,

Hi, Tom... On a related note, when I try to put CalClassic Traffic 1962 into my scenery library, I get a message that says "this path all ready exists" (...flight simulator 9/addon scenery/CalClassic Traffic 1962) I had no problems with the '57 and '59 layers. Any ideas as to what I may have messed up? yours, P.S. Never mind this post. I found the answer. Somehow, when I added my MAAM carrier scenery, the path in the scenery.cfg ended up CalClassic Traffic 1962. I guess I need to slow my mouse clicks down a bit. I deleted the MAAM layer, put in the Traffic 1962 layer, then put MAAM back in. All is well.

Hi,
I don't have a problem with that texture loading, but I'm glad you might have found the reason for your computer. Most of our scenery textures don't have mipmaps (they are in simple 256 color format), but some might, like the signs that use transparency to make the sign shapes.
