Most Of Grand Central is done. The RR station from the Classic Arizona scenery fills in fairly well for the terminal. I am going crazy with this! I'm going for the 1940's look. I have already changed March field, and Mines field. I have been thinking about what to do with Selfridge. The runways on Midway island need help.
Yes I put the apron under part of the runway when needed real thin. Also it seems to be working to change the ground cover around the airport, at least between the pavement. I hav'nt tried messing with the fence lines yet.

I'd love to get a copy of any of your sceneries if you feel the inclination. I really like the 1940s. I tried to backdate DCA but have pretty much given up. Too much time, too much 'real life' getting in the way.
Thanks,

I would love to share what I have been doing! I have only been doing this a few days. I have a hundred projects that I want to do all based in the world war II era. This program only does runways, taxiways, and aprons, no buildings or background textures. I only know how to use EZ scenery from Abacus. The buildings I have been using are from most of the CalClassic scenery files and what ever I have found for EZ scenery that looks good. It does work pretty well, but to get the quality up to what most scenery designers do, would take help from others.
I am quite proud of my Grand Central Airport, My wife works in a building that is right next to where it was. I need to find some ramp lights for it. Anacosta/ Bolling needs a few more tweeks. I got Los Angeles/Mines Field to what I think it looked like around 1945. Although it is a complicated mixture of Tom's LAX59 and what ever I could change.
March Field is in process. And today I will finish Hughes Aircraft company in Culver city. I would like to do something with Barksdale Field and the military bases in hawaii in the future.
Send me a pm with your E-mail like frank does, and I'll send the ones I think are good enough to share. I have never done anything like this before. I don't even know how to take FS pictures. Let alone post them here!

Hi, I use the ESDG Ramplights for that, since they actually light up the tarmac (but not the buildings and planes, unfortunately). They say for Rwy12, but anything for Rwy12 can be used by EZS as well: simviation.com/fsdesign_macros16.htmHope this helps,

Thanks Tom I will try that. These airports will become a work in progress adding stuff as time goes.

Hi, Tom...
The link you posted re ramp lights goes to a page with mostly .api scenery objects, which brings up a question.
To wit: For those of us who use EZ-Scenery instead of Airport, is there a way to convert .api files into .bgl files? There are a few freeware scenery uploads with .api objects I'd like to use, but I also want to stick with EZ-Scenery.
I've tried before to find a way to convert the files, but came up empty. Any thoughts?
Cheers,
Glenn

I don't know of a way to convert them, sorry. API objects tend to hurt the frame rate more than library objects too, although this is less of a problem with modern computers.
You can place API objects using any of the older scenery programs, or a program like SceneGenX.
We avoid them...

Bummer!
Still, it's good to know they're resource hogs.
Many thanks for the info..

Both. Make an apron slight smaller than the runway and run it all the length. Then tuck it under the runway.

Both. Make an apron slight smaller than the runway and run it all the length. Then tuck it under the runway. You can make any apron invisible just selecting off the appropriate option in its properties. Using this trick makes the necessity of shaping correctly the flatten apron moot, as, once invisible, its borders won't be displayed even if bigger than the runway it is covered.
