Hello together,
even though Oliver Fischer has built a very beautiful "Tante Ju" for FS9, I have refrained from flying it until recently, because it doesn't come with a proper manual.
However, I found an original manual for the Luftwaffe g4e which is technically the same as the civil (BMW 132A engines; 10,500 kg MTOW). But when I throttled fully up (at Seatac, standard weather), I was surprised that rpm was well below the 2050 mark. Am I right in the assumption that because of the fixed-pitch propellers, the maximum value is more of a theoretical value as rpm increases with airspeed and altitude? Or is it a flaw within the simulation? I wonder...
Best, paulopp

Just as a matter of interest .... when giving it/the JU52 herbs/"MAX POWER" .... what was your ambient/or airport altitude ?
As that will affect the power you get.
Might need some mixture adjustment too .... perhaps.
Of course I´m just "GUESSING" .... as I´m not familiar with this particular simulation at all.

Hi,
Yes, I would assume that you would not attain that RPM at low speeds. I also assume that is an RPM limit value. You monitor the RPM during the flight and reduce the throttle if the RPM exceeds that value.

I've used several of Herr Fisher's Ju 52s in FS9. To be honest, from what I know of Tante Ju, the FM is pretty solid, but then I'm not a rated pilot. Still, I think that you'll enjoy flying this creation as it is just the ticket for slow flights over some of the great scenery available for FS9. Here is the Ju 52 on display at the technical museum at Sinsheim, Germany:

In June 2007 this Swiss Ju-52 just came back from movie shootings for "Operation Valkyrie" with Tom Cruise and got again its former livery.

Hi, I'm not sure about that but possibly prop pitch is so high that you can't reach max rpm when standing still on the ground? Are you achieving published performance figures in cruise flight? Best regards, Volker

@ jagdflieger
Nice pic. But wasn't that one red once? Although, it's a mock up of the 3mce "Manfred von Richthofen", the personal plane of Herrmann Göring. This one is a Spanish license.
@ aviavirt I remember the appearance of the plane as 26+00 vividly in the movie. It was almost like the arrival of Darth Vader in Return of the Jedi.
@ Volker You were right. In the aircraft.cfg the fixed pitch angle was 25.0 degrees, compared to the 19.5 degrees standard pitch. When changed the props do behave more in sync with the manual. The Ju PAK propelle pitch could be changed on ground. However, even though there are no power charts for the plane in the manual, the Fischer model seems a bit too fast. First, with no pitch trim and 25 degrees flaps, the plane will simply fly itself off rather quick. Secondly, the manual says that at 2.5 km height the cruising speed at 1700 rpm should be around 180 kph. Fully loaded, in the sim the plane climbs at Va=150-160 kph at incredible 10 m/s (1900 ft/min) - compared to 4 m/s and at altitude it is faster than 220 kph. I am no expert either with the original or with FS aerodynamics, but I find all that confusing.
I used normal weather setting and automixture.

I took this photo 5 years ago.

So, I guess they have repainted her.

Apparently so. I kind of like the older Red Barron livery.

Reactiving an old topic... anyone converted the VC to "D-AQUI" modern gauges?
