query: did all the MATS flights land at PHNL, or did they go to other military fields on Oahu like Hickam and Barber's point?
Might move em to get the other fields alive.

Hi,
Hickam *is* located at PHNL, so they are already there. I would doubt there was much MATS traffic to the other islands, but I have heard of MATS aircraft landing elsewhere in emergencies.

Yes. If you look at the current layout, Hickam is on the NW corner of the airfield while the first landplane terminal built after the war was just to the west of runway 22R off the end of the current easternmost pier. It has been demolished since.

As a retired MATS pilot, I can tell you that PHNL was the only airfield used for MATS traffic after WWII. Prior to the war during the era of ATC, flights often went to Schofield Barracks which was a U.S. Army post, and the home of then Wheeler Field. After WWII, Wheeler became Wheeler Air Force Base and was used primarily as a support base for Schofield Barracks. No MATS passenger service was there. Later, when USAF began divesting itself from some bases, Wheeler was returned to the Army and redesignated as Wheeler Army Air Field.
