Shalom and greetings all my pals,
Presenting a darn pretty New Year Day flight from PAUN Unalakleet Airport located one nautical mile north of the central business district of Unalakleet, Alaska to PAOM Nome Airport located two nautical miles west of the central business district of Nome, Alaska.
Boarding the plane in sub zero freezing weather on New Year Day
Sitting in captain seat doing pre-flight check list while cockpit window shows the view of truck belonging to Jim Tweto that a new rookie Era airline pilot accidentallly broke the driver door by opening it in powerful winds that damaged the door
You can see Jim Tweto's private GA planes!!
Taxiing to short of runway 32
Holding short of runway 32 doing final checklist and making sure there are no polar bears on runway. You can see green Era airline terminal building and the famous car with damaged driver door
Backtracking on runway 32 for take off
Airborne on climb to 10,000 ft with background view of shore of Unalakleet
Beautiful winter sun view with same background view of same shore and waters of Norton Sound
Cruising at 10,000 ft across waters of Norton Sound
Flying through clouds at 10,000 ft can be fun
Descending through more clouds
Check out my office
More clouds to descend through
Seconds before touchdown on runway 27
TOUCHDOWN
Braking down
Backtracking is completed as the plane taxied toward gate
Nice tail and winter sun
Arrived at gate to unload cargo and satisfied passengers
Thank you for viewing and HAPPY NEW YEAR TO ALL OF YOU. Stay tuned for next flight!
Regards,
Aharon

Tom, Kludde, NMLW, Erik, and Pete
Thanks for kind words.
I love the livery, where did you get it please?
Pete,
The livery comes from cool virtual airline that I am afraid you need to become member of at its link www.flyaka.com/ in order to enjoy and fly that livery.
Regards,
Aharon

Great shots bet it was an enjoyable flight, really love the Milton Schupe Dash 7 (Just a Dash 8 with 4 Pt6s), great to fly and you sure can shoe horn it into some tight spots, though the 10 degree pitch down on the ILS needs a bit of getting used to. Any particular scenery for Alaska or just whats about?

Mikeh, Thank you for your kind words but do not understand your question. What do you want to know about what you say "any particular scenery for Alaska" Regards, Aharon

I think he was wondering if you used addon scenery for your flight?

Yes to clarify re the scenery. Over time I have collected a heap of Alaskan scenery, some I found on an obscure site that only did Alaska. I also found a very good 30m mesh which did wonders in transforming the Aleutians and Alaska. Other than ORBX global/vector it is all standard along with the relevant Cal Classic airports which work fine in that part of the world. Just curious what addons your using sorry I cannot be more specific. They are great screen shots and the Dash looks stunning, great paint. I mostly get about in the classic props.

Thanks, Tom for clarification of Mikeh's question. Mikeh, The PAUN scenery that I am using can be found on flightsim website as seen on information below: FSX - FSX Scenery FSX Scenery--Unalakleet Alaska [ Download | View ] Name: unalakleet_paunv3_0.zip Size: 2,520,875 Date: 05-19-2011 Downloads: 4,297 FSX Scenery--Unalakleet Alaska (PAUN) v3.0. Made famous on the Discovery Channel in the program Flying Wild Alaska, this is Unalakleet Airport, AK. Completely custom built with animated smoke and a reworked AFCAD. Works best with FSX SP2 or Acceleration installed. This airport works with Ultimate Terrain Alska and the default FSX scenery. More parking for traffic and beacon was upgraded. Thanks to Jim Dhaenens for the beacon. No more crash if you got crash detection on, fix and working. By Frits Beyer and Jacques Botha. (Previous version had 963 downloads) Over time I have collected a heap of Alaskan scenery, some I found on an obscure site that only did Alaska. I also found a very good 30m mesh which did wonders in transforming the Aleutians and Alaska. Please tell us more info on your collection of heap of Alaskan scenery. Thaks Regards, Aharon
