Hi All, It's been a while since I've done any Flightsimming. Firstly, my old PC packed up, then so did the new one a few weeks later (not what you need when you're looking for work ) and it took 4 weeks for the shop to figure out what was wrong, but over the last month, I've got back into it and am just about finished adding all the Classic scneries back in. I have everything working again, and have invested in an external hard drive to back up the entire sim so I don't have to go through this yet again. But I have one problem left. Of course..... I am trying to install the Germany Landclass scenery from WWW:\ Germany-VFR.DE, and the auto installer refuses to find my FS installation, saying "No Flightsimulator 2004 installed". I know it's there, and Windows Registry appears OK, but since the auto installer doesn't allow me the option to install to a dummy folder then do a copy/paste, I have come to a dead end on this. Can anyone offer any suggestions to get this installed?? Thanks, Mike

Hello Mike,
Nice to see you back with us after your problem with the PC's.
The scenery you are trying to install, have you had it installed before?
I think I have had this problem with other installs, usually I end up not using it, you could also try contacting the author it may be he didn't put it in the installer properly. You haven't renamed your FS9 folder by any chance have you?
I think the path should be something like this:
C:\Program Files/Microsoft Games/Flight Simulator 9
Sorry I'm not much help but we can go through a process of elimination.

Cheers Mike - You might find this utility handy: visualflight.info/downloads/fs2004-toolkit/I downloaded it just now, so the link still works. I am pretty sure I have the same scenery, and don't remember any probs with it, but I only had one FS9 when I installed it. When I created my FS9 Classic, I just copied the scenery folders across. Can't check exactly, since BigBeast(The Flying Machine) is awaiting a new PSU....must be an epidemic ATB MikeW

Thanks for the replies, guys. Thanks to your help, I've got it sorted. I installed to C:\Flight Simulator 9. It helps not having to follow the default path when installing most freeware addons. But when I installed this time, I didn't bother registering the product. I've had to re-install on a couple of previous occassions, and didn't see the point of registering the same product repeatedly. I think that may have been the issue. But maybe I've just shot myself in the foot on this... Running the toolkit you mention below has fixed it. Thank you both for taking the time to respond. It's appreciated. Cheers, Mike
