Tom, I have downloaded the packages for the DC-6A CB 16 and CB 17 models and wish to use the CB 17 with a MATS repaint. In the CB 16 folder you say this:
NOTE: This version of the DC-6A is normally used for modern operations, since high octane fuel for the CB-17 engines is typically not available. The only change to the model itself is the removal of the black "footballs" under the fuselage (the ADF antennas). If you want to use this model for classic era liveries using the CB-17 engines (an example is the USAF C-118A), do this:
1. Download and install the DC-6A CB-17 Base Pack. 2. Copy the two model folders found in this package (model and model.spinner) and paste back into the same folder. 3. Rename the new Copy of model folder to model.noADF, and rename the new Copy of model.spinner folder to model.noADF_spin. 4. Move these two new folders to the DC-6A CB-17 folder. Specify this new model in the DC-6A CB-17's aircraft.cfg file by typing model=noADF for small spinners, and model=noADF_spin for large spinners.
I have followed these instructions as far as I am aware but the aircraft does not show up in the Aircraft Menu under DC-6A. The relevant part of the aircraft cfg is;
[fltsim.2] title=DC-6A MATS sim=dc6a model=noADF_spin panel= sound= texture=MATS kb_checklists= kb_reference=dc6a_ref atc_id= atc_id_enable=1 ui_manufacturer=Douglas ui_type=DC-6A ui_variation=MATS description=Military Air Transport Service C-118 with high vis markings atc_airline=Army atc_flight_number=31 atc_heavy=0 visual_damage=1 prop_anim_ratio=0.9
What have I done wrong? Many thanks, Ken

Post the other two fltsim entries in that cog file (I.e. the ones that do show up).

Hi,
Looks okay to me. Are you sure that the model.noADF_spin folder name is spelled correctly?

Yes, it is named correctly and now I am really confused. The MATS texture I have been trying to add is the one by Jim Campisi from 2012 which you recommended in the Early SAS thread. It shows up without any problem in the DC6A CB 16 folder and is an excellent paint. All the same it occurred to me to try a different set of textures and so I added the US Navy one originally made for FS2002. And it shows up! Below is the relevant section of the aircraft cfg file, number 2 doesn't work and number 3 does. I still have a feeling I have blundered somewhere. [fltsim.2] title=DC-6A MATS sim=dc6a model=noADF_spin panel= sound= texture=MATS kb_checklists= kb_reference=dc6a_ref atc_id= atc_id_enable=1 ui_manufacturer=Douglas ui_type=DC-6A ui_variation=DC-6A MATS description=Military Air Transport Service C-118 with high vis markings atc_airline=Army atc_flight_number=31 atc_heavy=0 visual_damage=1 prop_anim_ratio=0.9 [fltsim.3] title=C-118 Liftmaster sim=dc6a model=noADF_spin panel= sound= texture=NAVY kb_checklists=DC6B_check kb_reference=dc6b_ref atc_id=N90756 atc_id_enable=1 ui_manufacturer=Douglas ui_type=DC-6A ui_variation=C-118 Liftmaster US Navy description=The DC-6B was generally considered to possess the best operating economics of any piston airliner built. Make sure there are no trailing spaces in the sim=, model=, and ui type= lines?

Perhaps there is a hidden character in that section. Delete the flsim.2 section, copy the fltsim.3 section, paste it in its place, and edit it to match the MATS livery data? Do not use anything from the fltsim.2 section, type it in fresh.

Checked. There are no spaces.

But your second suggestion has worked. Brilliant. Thank you very much.
