I'm wondering if the L-1049G & L-1049H Super Constellations have been upgraded to FSX Native?
I know a number of other classic aircraft have been, but I've searched through the forum and can't find any reference to the L-1049 series.
Thanks.
Pete

I don't think this one has been done. Yet . .

Hi Pete,
AFAIK they have not been done - because nobody has asked for them...

Thanks Tom.
May I ask for them to be considered for upgrading to FSX Native when time permits please.
Thank you.
Pete.

Hi,
OK, but that will take quite some time since there are so many models. I'm also not certain how well the custom animations will work out, but we'll see.

Hi, Here is the L-1049G Radar Tanks model for you all to test. If this is OK I'll do the rest eventually. If people don't find any errors now, these errors may end up in all of the models. www.calclassic.com/Temp/1049vc_rst.zipThese go into the model.1049vc_rst folder, replacing the originals. This is the TWA livery, among others. Hope this helps,

Note that the only error I can find is that the gauges are a little offset in the VC. I don't know what causes this error, and I don't think it can be fixed. It appears that the gauge polygons shifted forward a small amount during conversion.

I also noted that.
I'm going to fiddle with the gauge coordinates to see if that fixes it.
Thanks again Tom.

If you move around the VC you can see that if you are exactly opposite a gauge it's actually in the correct location. When you are above/below/left/right of the gauge you can see the offset. The gauge face is a few inches forward of the panel itself.

Hi Tom,
I've been experimenting and currently I've aliased the L-1049 VC to the L-1649, using the 'interior=1649_31_interior' in the model folder.
With the panel I've found that the grey VC bmps show less gauge offset than the original green VC bmps (for whatever reason)

Yes, that would probably work. I can't imagine why the textures would make a difference in the gauge appearance.

Magnificent! Don't really mind the gauge thing (makes it look a bit more 3d in P3Dv4.5). Thanks so much Tom for bringing another old friend back for us!

Hi, Glad you like it. I’ve found a way to fix the VC, but it means re-converting it from scratch and I’m busy this week, so it might be a little while.

Thanks Tom.
No hurry, I'm just pleased that this will get the FSX treatment.
