Flying saucers have always fascinated science fiction authors and imaginative historians. But the technology of all-wing aircraft have been tested during several decades. And FS9 aircraft designers have been quite creative as well. The Vought V-173 "Flying Pancake" was an American experimental test aircraft built as part of the Vought XF5U "Flying Flapjack" United States Navy fighter aircraft program during World War II. Both the V-173 and the XF5U featured an unorthodox "all-wing" design consisting of flat, somewhat disk-shaped bodies serving as the lifting surface. Mike Stone's GFSA GEoBat is a modern version of such circular wing planes. Unreal Aviation did this Jetson IV Flying Saucer. It's an imaginary saucer-shaped fan-lift two-seat transport inspired by The Jetsons TV cartoon series. I let it taking off like a helicopter. They all are flying well as AI. BTW, the famous Roswell UFO incident in 1947 inspired me for this 'what if' near Corona, NM ... Bernard
