Hi all,
I have had a couple of comments about the current fuel system in the DC-6 panel, and thought I would look into it. I have improved it and made it more reliable (I think?).
While I was at it, I made a widescreen version of the bitmap, which will be part of all panel updates from now on.
The new widescreen panel looks like this:
The new throttle quadrant looks like this:
Note that there are now 4 fuel tank select levers, one for each engine. Note also that the tool tip gives the current status of that lever.
The cross feed levers now work in both the middle and bottom positions. The middle position simulates the crossfeed of the main and aux tanks on that side of the plane, while the bottom position simulates crossfeeding fuel over to that side of the plane from the other side of the plane. Since I could only make the simple crossfeed work in FS, any cross feed activation actually draws fuel from all tanks in the plane, but if in the middle position the cross feed ends when the fuel is exhausted on this side of the plane.
I also could now include pages from the DC-6B manual, if people are interested. Here are the cross feed diagrams - all are available from the new system, within the limitations of FS:
And here is the fuel management during the flight:
And finally here is the fuel loading chart, in gallons (pounds). Of course, this would have to be converted from an 8 tank chart to our FS 4 tank chart. For now just add the "1 & 4" and the "2 & 3" volumes of the same tanks (MAIN or ALTERNATE) together and add them to the proper tanks:
You can download the new panel in the regular UAL DC-6B Base Pack, found on my DC-6B page.

Let me know here in this forum thread how these things work for you, especially if you have been having any trouble.
Thanks,
