OK, I started importing the wave files from the Propliner Imports folder to Edit Voice Pack. Got about halfway through, had to take a break and so decided to save what I had. I went to "File/Save" and clicked on it. Got the following message "Access to the path C:\Program Files (X86)\Bevelstone Production\EditVoicepack\EditVoicepackData.xml is denied". What's going on? Is there a fix? David

Yes, do not install any FS programs into ANY Program Files folder.

It wouldn't hurt. But you don't need to uninstall. Two choices: The simple way, but using a tool: 1. Create a folder called something like FS in the root of your desired hard drive. All FS programs will be installed there. 2. Move your original FS2004 folder into this new FS folder. Rename if if you like, or leave as is. 3. Use the Flight1 Registry Repair utility to update the registry to the new location: www.flight1.com/view.asp?page=libraryOr using FS2004 itself to do this: 1. Rename your original FS2004 folder, by adding OLD to the folder name. This will allow you to install another copy. 2. Install it again to a location like C:/FS/FS2004 (i.e. create an FS folder on your desired hard drive and install into that). You will need to choose Custom Install to do that. 3. Rename this new FS folder to something like FS2004 Backup 4. Move your current folder from the Program Files folder to the new FS folder. Rename it to FS2004 (or whatever you named the folder in step 1). 5. Now your original installation should work again with addon programs looking for it in the registry. 6. You can delete the FS2004 Backup installation if you wish, or use it for a different kind of flying. You can install all other FS utility programs into this FS folder, to keep things neat and tidy.

Thanks, Tom. Using Method 1 because I like things to be simple. I'll let you know if it works. And, by the way, I know I've been asking a lot of questions lately so thanks for your patience. David

Method 1 did not work for me. Downloaded the repair tool, ran it. It told me to browse to my flight sim file. Tried to do that but nothing showed up in the space at the bottom of the box. So, I typed in a path to the new file but when I hit the "Open" button nothing happened. Going to try method 2. Have a question, though. After I install the sim to the new folder and name that folder "Backup" you say to move the program files folder to the new FS folder. Is this the same folder that I just named "FS.Backup"? If it is, I figure that renaming FS.Backup to FS2004 (or whatever) will open the path (as long as I remove the ".old" from the old programs file folder. Correct? David

Hi,
When you browse to your fs9.exe file, you need to click it in the upper box before it will appear in the lower box. If you are using Windows 10 I'm not sure if it is compatible?
The Fs2004 folder inside Program Files folder is your original installation of the sim. I said to add OLD to that folder name. That folder gets moved to the new FS folder. So you will then have two FS2004 folders in the FS folder - if you follow my example names, they would be FS2004 Backup and something like Flight Simulator 9 OLD. You would rename Flight Simulator 9 OLD to FS2004.

Tom, I ended up using method 2. Thanks for explaining it to me. David

Tom, Now that I switched everything over, edit voice pack can't find it (registry error). Anyway, it says if I don't know how to fix it then re-install flight simulator. So, I tried deleting edit voice pack but, when I reinstalled it it gave me the same message. So, I deleted the copy of FS2004 in the program files, deleted edit voice pack and then re-installed edit voice pack. It still gives the same error (registry error...reinstall flight simulator). Don't know where to go from here. David

Do you have a valid FS2004 folder exactly where you told FS004 to put it when you did the second install of the sim? You need to be exact - no spelling errors.
I.e. if you told it to install into C:\FS\FS2004 there must now be a valid flight sim folder at C:\FS\FS2004.

Yes, the sim is located at C:/FS/FS2004

Hi everyone,
I have a copy of FS2004 and have installed many of the CalClassic planes and sceneries, and I would like to hear ATC use correct terminology when calling out airlines and airports (Idlewild, Stapleton, etc.) I tried installing Edit Voice Pack today, but received a message saying "This setup requires the .NET framework version 1.1.4322...) I tried to download it from the web, but it is no longer available. I checked on the forums here, but most of the threads are older, and point to files/fixes that no longer seem to be available. I have a Win 10 machine, and my FS2004 setup is in it's own folder on the "C" drive. Can someone point me in the right direction? I had an old Win 7 machine with Edit Voice Pack and it was great to hear all the right callouts.

If you are using Windows 10 I'm not sure if it is compatible? It is compatible with Windows 10 but you must "Run as Administrator". If you don't, it gives the illusion of having made the necessary changes when it hasn't. John

Microsoft no longer distribute the file, but other sites do, such as: download.cnet.com/Microsoft-NET-Framework-1-1-Service-Pack-1/3000-10250_4-10725942.html However, it may be difficult to install on modern versions of Windows, this explains how to do it: youtube.com/watch?v=8owBQwP9rsc John
