Hi Tom,
I've downloaded these thanks but looking at my setup I find that at present I have two evp files, a small 566kb USEnglishASOS.gvp, from November 2002, and an Evp_Accelerated.gvp, 327 mb from August 2020. I think the small file converts it to the the ICAO terminology as we have in the UK, Stand instead of Gate, Wait instead of Hold etc. and I would hate to lose the abbreviated ATC as in the Accelerated version above.
Any recommendation?
Thanks
Bill

The ASOS file is for things like ATIS, I believe? I don’t think it’s changed by EVP. For the main file i would just keep what you have. I decided not to accelerate since ATC was more relaxed in our era. I don’t know if ATC used different terminology back then between the UK and US.

Thanks Tom. As you were typing I was reading Avsim and I now see that I could if I wanted load the new USEnglishBig then use the update voicemail tool to create a new accelerated version. Tend to agree that ATC might have been a bit more leisurely in these days but I still prefer the accelerated version. Terminology was probably a bit of a mixture in the old days. Britain would have adopted ICAO at some stage but ICAO developed a lot over the years so for the classic era the EVP version isn't really accurate either.

I ran the Voicepack update anyway and found that the new Evp_Accelerated.gvp is smaller, 309mb, whereas the existing one is 327mb so I'll leave things as they were.
Same with the Airlines.cfg. The new one from your link is 14kb but the existing version is 42kb (modified 2022) and a longer list.

It might be smaller simply because the WAV files inside are shorter (since it's sped up).
As for the cfg file, it's a simple text file so you could combine them easily, so you have everything. I would avoid duplicates though.
