Got the tip prop textures right; Sorry about the size of the screenshot Tom. Took me a while to notice that the proptip textures of the N7103C is only grey. And the one of the TWA-Fictional/Silverbird has the proptip painted. It was a bit confusing as they both have the same registration No. Sorry to have confused some people relative the prop textures. I painted two of these birds. The Eastern and the fictional Silver TWA ship. In both instances I created (accurate) painted props. The texture for this is found in two places. On fins_t.bmp in the TWA-F texture set, you'll see the paint. That is for when the engines are shut down or feathered. The spinning props disk is found on propdisk.bmp. You'd need to modify the fins_t.bmp and add the propdisk.bmp to your revised texture set. I've done this personally as I have a 32 high metal version of the white top 7103C. However I didnt do the original work, so wont release it. Anyway this is an easy fix. All my work comes with the correct props! Eric

Thanks ravilamir: As I said both TWA textures have the same reg.No. on the wing, and when I open theire respective folders N7103C ( the one I took the scrreshot with) Has a grey propdisk texture. The TWA-F Silverbird has a painted propdisk texture in the texture folder. I write this down in the vent that other enthusiast run into the dilema like me.

Hi,
In all the pictures I've checked so far, TWA did not use paint on their props - they were bare metal. There might have been a few that slipped by, but in real life the vast majority were unpainted.
Hope this helps,

Hi,
A few more little things:
1. The "Flaps 60" wav file is me speaking. In the rest of them Howard says that. I normally say "Flaps coming 60". I end up saying both of them for the 60 setting. The rest are correct.
2. In the aircraft.cfg file the eyepoint is set (by default) to use the "AP" option, which I don't see in the panel.cfg file (there it is an "AT" option). But in the panel.cfg file the views are set to use the "BT" option. Looks like a mismatch there?
And I get tooltips in the VC just fine, unlike what the text file says.
Hope this helps,

To Manfred and everybody who played a role in creating this masterpiece, thanks so much. I love the 2D panel and the VC, as well as the exterior. Most of all, I appreciated the excellent frame rates and the flight dynamics--two things that really have to go together--when making the first landing in a crosswind at Istanbul. Beautiful behavior, right on the numbers, and as smooth as a kiss.
Very important to me: I was able to do the whole flight in the VC including operating the radios and the switches on the overhead and side panels.
A few short years ago, who could have dreamed of such an aircraft in FS9?
With deep and sincere gratitude,
Bill

Tom,
Probably just as well you brought this up as it might need a bit more explanation.
"AP" is simply a typo. That's the easy bit.
In the aircraft.cfg, if you prefer to keep to the default eyepoint, then in the panel.cfg you can safely use EITHER "//AT" or "//BT" unless the particular view is marked "//BT but eyepoint back" when you can use ONLY "//BT but eyepoint back" if you want the exhaust flames to remain visible, or "//AT" if the flames don't matter to you.
If you prefer the other eyepoint "LH Pilot's seat position" (better if you prefer to use the hatswitch to look around) then in the panel.cfg you must use the //BT settings.
So the default settings are OK. It's all about keeping the cockpit windows in the right positions and the flames in view. See also Readme Note 12.
Hope this assists.
Bill

Heres one image at least with painted prop tips

Yeah, that's why I said "vast majority". If you are modeling this modern museum bird then the painted props are fine. And of course fantasy schemes can have any props they like - that why I said "in real life". I think that bare metal is some of the best I've seen, Eric. Nice job.

Tom you say:1. The "Flaps 60" wav file is me speaking...
I don't have this wav. Mine starts with "Flaps 80" After I have gone by 60...If you know what I mean?
I put in the r3350 sound file from the Starliner; There is a Flap60 wav in there.

Hi! Some more observations: 1-Flaps and voice crew: As Tom said the voices"Flaps 60" and "Flaps 60 coming up" are the same. And I'm ashamed that I didn't at first recognize your voice! Now, the following happens: There's no problem at all with the flaps going down, but on flaps retraction we have: 100-80 "Flaps 80", "Flaps 80 coming up". That's correct. 80-60 is a repetition of the above instead of "Flaps 60" and "Flaps 60 coming up" 50-UP there's no problem. 2- Taxi and Landing Lights As Tom said the model.vc_rst shows from the cockpit, be it 2D or VC, the correct lights. In Spot view, however, Taxi lights are seen on their location on the gear door, but they don't project any light on the tarmac. On the model.vc_s, that's the snubnose without the Tip Tanks, we have more or less the inverted. LL and Taxi lights are shown correctly in Spot view, but on the cockpit, you don't see the Landing Lights. The correct aircraft.cfg is in use. More testing is in progress with the other models. Soft Landings!

I've decided to segregate my models into separate aircraft folders so that I can tune the light positions etc as I see fit without having to do it every time i decide to fly a different version.

That's what I've done too Eric! And that's Manfred's better suggestion. I've added the model name to the folders, so I know which one is! Soft Landings!
