Hi all, Well, I guess it's about time to see if you can find things wrong with it. The images of the VC are located in this thread: calclassic.proboards.com/index.cgi?board=general&action=display&thread=1021This package will replace your CV-340 Base Pack (if already installed), so if you have added any liveries to this Base Pack BACKUP YOUR AIRCRAFT.CFG FILE FIRST!! Renaming to aircraft_old.cfg will work fine. Edit: Beta Test is over; you will be able to download them next week. Please let us know here in this thread how you like it, and if you see anything that needs fixing. Note that this is based on Greg's original VC, and may not be as nice as the new DC-6 VC, based on Jens' later work. I think it has most of what you need to fly in the VC though. Also note that if you install this beta package you will have no gauges in your currently installed 340's and 440's, unless you add those liveries to this package. Instructions in the Adding Liveries.txt file regarding what new VC textures to copy to the old livery folder, etc. I haven't given a lot of new instructions - most everything works the same as in the 2D panel. The AP turn knob is a "left click to turn left, right click to turn right" knob, typical of VC's (it's described as such in the tooltip). I think most of the rest is self explanatory, but if not let me know. Let me know how it goes,

Hi Tom! This is really great! Love the night light! Very moody! ;D First impressions are very good! All buttons work. There's 2 Autopilots, right? That must be a bonus! ;D Although all buttons work, there is just a tiny thing: the Autofeather switch works independently on the 2D from the VC, i.e. they are not synchronized. All the other switches and buttons do seam to work faultlessly! And one thing I hadn't noticed is the Autopilot is the same as all other propliners including the Starliner and Super Constellation and the Pitch Control is now working great! It must be me not having used these aircraft for over 6 months, but I remember that this AP was giving you problems! Congratulations for another great improvement both to you and to Eddie for his textures! Thank you! Soft Landings!

Hi, The VC is wonderful!, but I only have all the textures in the normal CV340; in the short nose the right engine cowl is textureless and so is the VC. I'm probably doing something wrong ! Andy.

Hi, Thanks. Sorry, I should have mentioned that. The only MDL with the new VC is the radar nose - the other ones are the old VC. I will get around to adding the new VC to those after I have it in "final" shape. For now limit your testing to the radar nose. I'll see about fixing the autofeather switch, thanks.

Quite an improvement, Tom! Only comment I have is in wingview there are some holes in the root of the wing.
Thanks for the good work.
cheers Jazz

had a great takeoff from ksan last night. Flew to Carlsbad and circled doing power reduction and gear/flap exercises. In the VC the whole time. Great user experience in there. eyepoint natural, instrument quality excellent.
fde feels great.
Kudos on this work.Easily as good as the dc-6b VC.
If this is the beta, wow.

Hi again,
Thanks for the comments; looks like the VC is working OK so far. I've fixed the autofeather gauge; it will be in the final release. I tried to use the FS variables, but couldn't figure them out. Same for the feather variables - they don't seem to read properly vs the SDK...

Tom,
Tested it out in FS9, and it all looks good to me! Everything seemed to be working properly, fantastic job! I especially like the overhead, looks very nice. Only issue is the tiny gaps/cracks in the VC, but those have always been there.

Yeah, the texture cracking I won't get to - if there are any obvious gaps showing the sky, let me know and I'll see how easy they are to fix (i.e. no promises).
