Hi Bernie,
Finally had a chance to take this for a spin. She looks much better now, so thanks for the improvements. Also appreciate including some flying documentation too. Yours is the first F-27 I've ever flown, so it really helps.
Thanks again for all your hard work on this.
Cheers, Mike

Hi, Thanks, looking better and better. A few comments on the Fairchild model: 1. The rear fuselage texture mapping is just a tiny bit higher than the front fuselage mapping. 2. The landing light housing could rotate down, instead of just appearing (see my DC-6's and DC-7's). 3. The landing light is not linked to the landing light housing, and remains down even when the landing light housing is retracted. 4. The new spinner looks much better, but is a little too fat: Thanks so much,

Thanks Bernie for your efforts, however the problem the Mike Stone F-27 model has always had and still has is everything 3D model wise aft of the wing, and wing thickness itself is way way off, especially the fin and tail area, have a close look at your photo above, don't get me wrong I appreciate yours and Tom's efforts earlier on the fwd fuselage, and Lord knows I wish I could have half of your skills in regard to 3D modeling, but the F-27 will never look right until someone addresses the aft fuselage, fin and tail shape.

Hi, I'm aware about glitches and errors of the virtual model and I welcome your remarks. But first, it's quite difficult to find reliable plans about the plane and second I have only limited time. When I started with the project, way back in 2004, I just wanted a F27 with an virtual cockpit. I never planned to put big additional effort in it when I decided to set it online this year. But because of the helpful comments it pushes me on to continue, if it's not too hard to do. So I'll think about the vertical stabiliser. Here some pics about the present fixes I'm on: Outside: Slimmer spinners, cabin windows moved down, a new main landing gear, corrected animation of landing lights and cargo door, ... VC: improved instruments, corrected backlighting (dark frames around the gauges), modified throttle quadrant, ... Cheers Bernie

Hi,
It's getting better and better!
And you're right, those two side shots show the changes that could be made in the vertical stab.
Thanks,

Hi, got a picture from jymp. This one shows almost the same dimensions like one I found on the web. So now I have two that are nearly identical. I fixed the vertical stab and rudder, moved the horizontal stabs a bit forward and did some changes to the rear fuselage. Hope it looks better now. Cheers Bernie

Thank you guys! I think about lifting her up the ground half a feet? But then I have to redo all animations exept the landing gear. Here a few pictures of the real thing, I used for studies, at Moenchengladbach Airport (EDLN). The old WDL Aviation F27-200 D-AELL from 1969. After a long career also as PH-FON, TF-FLO, VT-ETE and HL5209 she guards now the entrace of RWL flight academy: Cheers Bernie

Yes, if you compare the two Pacific pictures on page 2 of this thread it does seem to be riding a bit low. Thanks,

Yep, riding a bit low, sure Bernie will fix this as well, finally this bird is starting to look like an actual F-27.

Wonderful, I've been waiting for this for long time. and this is beautiful. Thank you for your efforts on the development.
Just one question, I downloaded the bird and went on flying FS2004. and with No 2D cockpit. Will Tom/Calclassic F-27's 2D panel work with the VC model? or other 2D panels possible?
Thanks,

Hi, just a basic 2d view because the main topic is vc. If you want a 2d, feel free to copy it from the CalClassic Fairchild.
Cheers Bernie
