Henri,
Have a few questions before I install your revised panel (I definitely thing it looks better). I am running FSX.
1. Related to the 1st (non RealEngine) download (Modified_CV-340_panel)for FSX a. Does not have all the Damage lines in the file...will I still get Damage?
2. Related to the 2nd (RealEngine) download (Modified_CV-340_panel_and_functionality_for_FS9). a. Will this work in FSX? b. I'm a little nervous about RealEngine (although I like the idea very much) as, after reading the manual, it appears I will need to make a lot of modifications to my files (I'm one of those people that knows just enough about computers to get into trouble) that I'm not comfortable with...but it appears you might have already done those with your "RE_Parameters_CV-340" file...is that correct? In other words can I install per your instructions and not have to do any other file changes? I know I can do "tweaking", but would not want to do that.
Thanks in advance for your response.

Hi,
For number one you will probably need to download and install the United DC-6B Base Pack to get the damage gauges?

Yes...I have that and it works with the "Damage" addition to the panel.cfg.
What I meant by this is I noticed that the additional lines added to the panel.cfg to get the "Damage" to work are missing from this panel.cfg so would I need to re-add them?

Yes, for the FSX panel.cfg you would have to add them. I took them out before, because there were problems with the modified panel in FSX and I did not know whether these lines would cause a problem. They were useless so far, but now the damage module has been enabled this is different, of course. Unfortunately I do not own FSX and cannot test for you. Neither can I check RealEngine in FSX, but it should work. Try the attached panel.cfg for FSX. All lines for the damange module and RealEngine have been added. Still you have to install RealEngine itself according to documentation, plus the RE_Parameters_CV-340.ini file provided by me. dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/32798590/FSX_panel_for_CV-340.zipRegards, Henri

Thanks Henri...I'll give it a try when I get back in town next week and let you know how it works.
I added the lines to my existing panel.cfg and they work fine with no issues that I've seen yet. I even tested them with a takeoff at MGW and cowl flaps closed and sure enough the engines failed. Have not tested the other types of failures as I'm leaving for a week.
I hope RealEngine is as simple as you say...the documentation is a little daunting...so we'll see.
Again thanks.
Suggestion: Is there some way this topic could be transferred to the "Discussion" topic...it would be more logical to find...and it has some good stuff.

Thanks. Sounds good.
I followed your suggestion and added this FSX panel.cfg link also to the appropriate thread in the discussion forum.
Kind regards,
Henri

Henri,
Installed the panel but not realengine...just didn't feel it was needed since we now have the damage working (added those lines). Have not flown yet but everything looks good.
I did find that the Fuel Planner fuel loading does not work with the panel...I know it worked before. Not a biggie but if you know what we can do to get it working it would be a nice upgrade.
Thanks for this...looks great.

How does it not work?

Tom,
In the CalClassic Planner Notepad I click on the "Total Fuel" green numbers with everything exactly the same (low fuel, on the ground, brakes locked) as before I installed the new panel. I get the "Tool Tip" telling me to click to adjust fuel but when I do nothing happens...the fuel does not change.
Thanks,

Hi,
I don't know. Works fine for me in FSX SP2.
