Hi,
When using the CalClassic Convair (240, 340, 440) I always missed the Damage module (by Robert Graf), that you can select on the Notepad of the CalClassic DC-6 and DC-7. I only could select either Warn or No Warn. I figured that it should be possible to inlcude the Damage option in the Convair as well. The solution turns out to be quite simple, at least in the case of FS9. I assume you have both the CalClassic CV-340 and the DC-6B installed. If this is all common knowledge, I apologize.
- Go to the folder FS9/Gauges/cv340
- Use Notepad to open the file Notepad_CV.xml (you might want to make a copy of this file first)
- Use Find to jump to the first line containing the word Damage, which should look like this:
<Macro Name="Damage">0</Macro> <!-- Does the plane have a Damage Module included? (1 = yes, 0 = no) -->
- Replace this by
<Macro Name="Damage">1</Macro> <!-- Does the plane have a Damage Module included? (1 = yes, 0 = no) -->
- Save and exit the file Notepad_CV.xml
- Go to the folder FS9/Aircraft/340pnlKMCC
- Open the file panel.cfg (you might want to make a copy of this file first)
- In the section [Vcockpit02] add the following lines (making sure the gauge numbers are higher than the highest of this panel section)
gauge39=Z_DC6KMTG!OIL_CONSUMPTION, 0,0,20,20
gauge40=Z_DC6KMTG!CARB_ICING, 0,0,20,20
gauge41=Z_DC6KMTG!DEWPOINT, 0,0,20,20
gauge42=Z_DC6KMTG!ENG_FAILURE, 0,0,20,20
gauge43=Z_DC6KMTG!ENG_OIL_COLD, 0,0,20,20
gauge44=Z_DC6KMTG!ENG_POWER, 0,0,20,20
- Save and exit the file panel.cfg
Once in the flight simulator, launch your favorite Convair, open the Notepad, and click on Warn/No Warn to make it show Damage instead. From now on you should have a working engine damage module.
Have fun,
Henri
