Hi Rubbish,
If you can do a screenshot, can you email me one of inside your new C97 aircraft folder? It might help.
Thanks, Bruce

Hi,
Yes, the latest strat.air file is to be used with all versions of the 377/367.
Hope this helps,

I checked into my files and the model & .air files under "strat" are for a tanker version---the model and .air file using "c97" are for a freighter version. The title that you refer to works in my "c97" freighter version. Perhaps the models are not totally compatible.

I also looked inside my texture file. All of the external textures of my c97 freighter are labeled "c97", all of my external textures of my strat TANKER are labeled "kc97".

Hi Pung,
1. Use Strat.air for everything. 2. Use the appropriate b377v?.mdl files for each of the Stratocruiser variants (v1,v2,v3) 3. Use the model folder from C97mdl.zip for the C97 4. Use the model folder from kc97emdl.zip for the kc97e, and from kc97gmdl.zip for the kc97g
All of these updates are available here at CalClassic, or via Calclassic at Avsim. Follow the links from the Calclassic home page\the planes\B377.
You are correct. The C97 mdl file uses c97_name bmps for the exterior textures, and since the vc model is the same as the kc97's one, it uses kc97_name bitmaps for the vc textures. The only difference, visually, is the VNE and Stall Speed information on the main VC panel.
And so, the kc97 mdl files use kc97_name bitmaps for exterior and vc textures.
The change of .air file (from c97.air to Strat.air) doesn't seem to be something everyone has been aware of but, yup... that's the way to do it.
Regards,
Bruce.

I`ve got it!!! I uninstalled all my Strat models, civil and military, downloaded them again from Avsim, and reinstalled them one by one with the new panel, and hey presto...they appear in the aircraft list! What happened..I don`t know. But....isn`t there always a but, the C97 is fine, new 2D panel, and the VC. But the kc97e, and kc97g models, while they have the new 2D panels, the VC `s are missing.. I`m not sure what in the panel or a/c cfg files makes the VC appear. Help (again) would be appreciated. Many thanks, Stuart.

Hi Stuart
See page 2 of this thread, Tom has a note about editing the viewpoint in the aircraft CFG file. I did as he said and now have the VC views.

Hi, this is my first post on this forum so I hope you can bend a little if I'm a bit off-topic. Like everyone else I have immensely enjoyed Greg Peppers 377 / C/K/97. Bruce's military instrument panel set is a fantastic addition but wonder if I have somehow mis-installed it. I have everything showing up and working properly with the exception of the HSI on the main instrument panel. I see an entry for it in the panel.cfg file and since the name lacked the prefix "XMLgauges!" I tried adding that no avail. Did anyone else come across this problem and did I miss a fix posting?
Thanks to anyone that can help at this late date!

John,
First off, thanks to you and all the folks at MAIW for all the scenery you've posted over the years. I especially enjoyed the FS9 scenery for McEntire Air Base. I replaced the MAIW aircraft with F-104's found at Avsim and replaced the helo's with a white helo paint for an AI CH-47 from another AI website. I never had the time to replace the vehicles in the scenery, but other than that it looks great!
As for the panels, I haven't been on any install of my sim for a while due to family and work, but I looked at the C-97 entries just now and noticed I have both civilian and military panels installed. Not sure if that would make a difference? Maybe one points to a gauge from another by mistake?
Hope this helps.

Thank you very much Jorge. I believe one of the best things about FS is that Microsoft left so many open ends for users to modify and 'repair' as desired, it's good to hear that people are having fun with the selections out there.
Currently I am using three different panels and four sounds for the different model/type 377s I am flying so I don't think the issue is there but it's certainly worth checking out. Of course I can always use one of the thousands of other gauges out there, but Bruce did such a nice job on his panel I just wanted to see if I could repair it. Again thanks on behalf of MAIW and myself for your feedback!
