Mr. Jahn is cranking up the suspense however the waiting will be very rewarding flying this masterpiece! I propose Cal classic should have an annual award for the ultimate masterpiece of the year to be voted for by forum members. It could be for aircraft, panels, sounds or scenery. No winners in categories, just one winner. A press release announcing the winner could be send to the popular flight sim sites attracting attention to this site and probably gaining more enthusiasts.

Hi, It's looking just great, Manfred. While an award is a valid way to recognize all the hard work that people put into the creations we enjoy so much, I am not a very "competitive" person, and prefer to give a heartfelt "thanks" to *everyone* who has created things for the classic era. I will leave awards, etc. to others. As for attracting attention to this site, I would prefer to keep it low key and just enjoy our small band of friends. There are big disadvantages to becoming bigger and bigger (note that much of the current US economic crisis is due to companies becoming "too big to fail"), not the least of which is that I don't want to put much more work into the web page, leaving me short of time to create things I want to see in FS. People who are really interested will find us...

Hi, thinking the same here. To get too big in a short time will fail everytime. Users we had many......I think 2000 hardcore and another 2000 lurking from time to time, but mostly flying modern planes. Do we need a ranking ? I don´t think so, because every developer is doing his best in the spare time between family and job. There is no reason to handle it here like in the real world. In case of the 1649, I think Manfred does know how much we like his work and his ( and the team ) enthusiasm will be honored from the community. Hats off to Manfred and the team Wolfgang

I find that in the flight sim community the classic prop junkies are a rare breed and tend to find each other out pretty quickly.

I agree with you guys. Its has not been difficult for me to get here a couple of years ago.
Manfred & team, you deserve my personal "Maarten-is-very-happy-with-the-Starliner Award". ;D
Prost!

Thank you. Some FSX-related bugs have come up which we may not be able to iron out for this release. Otherwise we are on schedule and on target.

We'll do our best to get the upload done today. When you see me opening a new Starliner thread here at Calclassic the package is on its way to avsim.
