BTW, There's also flights from Mexicana and Aeronaves de Mexico to my hometown!. ...(Monterrey) interesting airport indeed

Hi milspecsim! Thanks again for the nice comments!....even though general aviation airports are already done and commercial airports have a very good advance...I can't tell a release date yet , because I don't know it either!....please be patient The issue we are still dealing with is the Air Force Bases....and being more specific, the military traffic....the project includes a lot of backdated bases and Aux landing/training fields, but our main problem is exactly the same you have on your military project ....the lack of -native- AI models VS the use of full models instead Regardless the aircraft you see there, all I can say it's: Enjoy the ride! Replaced the TA-4J with the earlier A-4 model.. Guess the airport!....thanks to Jorge, who found the recently released T-28 and the Navy repaints

I put my military project on hold due to the lack of low LOD Ai aircraft. Back in the late 50's and early 60's SAC bomber wings consisted of either 3 squadrons of B-52's or 4 squadrons of B-47's, plus a squadron of KC-135's. Each B-47 squadron had 18 aircraft, B-52's had 16, while the KC's had 15 per. The available planes out there are too resource heavy, even with the sound and panel files removed, and with the air file modded to AI. When I built Biggs AFB and Homestead AFB(B-47 bases, AFCAD only)and populated with 4 B-47 squadrons and one KC squadron, the frames dropped from north of 60 to south of 10. Removing the 47's brought the frames back up to over 40. The 52's were even worse with one less squadron.
As I have no idea how to build a GMAX model, (Is there a really good n00b building page out there? Or should I just take the course at the local college) I'll have to wait until someone builds a good low LOD file.

Juan, take a look at your fences. I see that you have no issues with transparency problems of objects located close to the fence but on the opposite side than that of the viewer becoming transparent.
I had issues with buildings, cars, people, other things located close to the fence becoming transparent below the top of the fence. How or what did you do to obtain this?
Tom and I had this issue and had to end up creating a new fence alpha texture and saving as a DXT-1 texture and not as a DXT-3 texture.
Can you please go to Anchorage if you have it installed and see if things below the top of the fence are transparent?

Hi Mike; for small portions or perimeter fence at some airports I've been using the fences contained on the "Fencelib.bgl" file ...on but in other cases, I prefer to create the fence into the model with textured wall polygon portions....using a custom texture....just like the observation deck at Houston's screenshot on previous page. Now that you mention texture formats, I'm afraid to say that texture transparencies on my side behave the opposite as yours...I don't have the latest equipment with the outstanding video card, I manage myself with a bare Pentium IV, 1gb RAM, using windows XP SP2.... I assume that's the reason why textures saved on Extended 256, DXT1 and every other texture format using mips produces exactly the same graphic problems on my sim, texture blurries and transparency issues like the ones you describe... The only texture format that looks clean on my sim (and I have used on all the sceneries I made)is DXT3 and Extended 32bit (no mips)....but not always, those fences I use behave different on some cases, I don't remember if the texture that the "Fencelib.bgl" uses was on DXT1 or DXT3...if it was DXT1, probably I converted it to DXT3, just as I always do with DXT1 textures on other sceneries, aircraft repaints, scenery objects, etc, etc ******

Hi people! it has been a while since I posted the last update...my spare time has been reduced on the last month so I'm doing my best on it... I've always mentioned this scenery as a "1962" version....but the fact is that Texas becomes more active using the 1959 traffic.....the reason is because Continental had flights to several little towns from it's main hub at Houston, all using DC-3 & CV-440..... 13 out of 31 commercial airports are active only using the 1959 traffic...here's some pics I took last night. Breckenridge Snyder Mineral Wells Abilene Wichita Falls - Sheppard AFB...the F-104 parked at the terminal is part of the 331st Fighter-Interceptor Squadron based at Webb AFB...I still have some pending work at those bases All the best!

Have uploaded following to my Flickr page JWHSHD:-
Abilene 1960 approach plates. Breckenridge 1965 airfield layout. Mineral Wells 1959 approach plates. Snyder 1965 airfield layout. Wichita Falls 1955-56 approach plates. Wichita Falls 1958 approach plates. Wichita Falls 1960 approach plates.
It is interesting to see the changes to Wichita Falls in just those few years.
Hope they will be of some interest for Juan's new scenery.
