That would be marvelous. I tried it on my setup, and indeed the boxes are no longer there and I couldn't see any ill side effects, so far at any rate. We'll have to test this over a slightly longer period I guess but the prospect looks good. Thanks very much for the tip, Edd!
To be specific, to be removed from the cabfile are the following files:
Radio_Shadow_Alpha.bmp RadioAP_Shadow1_Alpha.bmp RadioAP_Shadow2_Alpha.bmp RadioAP_Shadow3_Alpha.bmp
You must know your way round cabfiles to do this, but don't worry, if it works out we'll bake a new cabfile for all to download in due course. It will also give us an opportunity to get rid of a few other snags.
In the panel folder you have a subfolder named FD_test. In FD_test you'll see a file FD_test.txt and it will tell you all about it. We needed that to measure takeoff distance and stuff like that.

;D What a nice paint job...Just like I remember them landing in Colombia back in the 1960'S
Wolfgang: Thanks for you advice and guidance I got the textures now put in theire right locations and the v/c's are working fine in all of my textures. I didn't notice what I was doing when I copied them over. Thanks for making me aware of this.

Good find Edd and thanks Manfred for the clarification on the files to be deleted. Works like a charm. I guess I can scratch my Lufthansa paint job for the Starliner Tim, that is just a wonderful piece of work. As a german Ex-patriate I just have to have that one ;D Please be sure to let us know when and where to get our hands on it. Stefan

Thanks, Volker, for the help. I remarked the gauge out with the idea to reinstate any time I wish.

Ah! Interesting screenshot. What I get and what's certainly in the current release is this: Note entry "Pilot Voice" (whose value can be toggled) and others. Say, Bernardo, are you by any chance using the FSAviator setup or another previous installation? That would explain a lot .... especially that you do have the squeaky brakes, but not our updated status window, nor of course the voices. I notice, too, that some parts of your status window are clipped. To see all the values, drag on the sides to adjust the size. Moreover, note well that the default value on the voices is ON, so if you flip the MUTE switch you certainly won't hear them either ... Manfred

Manfred thanks for getting into this with me! No I don't have the entry for pilot voice as you can see...in my screenie Activating the switch is my problem, it's not active, as previously noted, not by my mouse? ...And no I am not using FS Aviator setup; Or another previous installation. The one I have is fresh from avsim when it was released...All I have done to it is add the line(Red) to the aircraft.cfg to make the panel brighter for daytime use.I'm running Vista 32, FSX SP2. I just started the sim and tried what you suggested dragging the box...I dragged it a whole quarter of the screen and the Pilot voice line didn't appear!???I think as you say I'm missing an update. I've been around since the beggining and the number of updates and files that have been added to complete this "MASTERPIECE" is big. I would need a concise name for this particular update, in order to install it...Or my head is going to go BANG!...And someone is going to have to clean up with a spoon. Since I installed the default value for me has been "Off" and I can't click on the switches in neither consol. Other member have also noticed that the console is not mouse active. I've even tried zooming in and out to see if it becomes active with the mouse...But it definately doesn't

Testing ;D took it up to 20000, they do contrail in real life, but the contrail looks like a twister fry. No more black textures form the Radio panels, Many thanks to Edd for the quick solution, DME is now working without the black texture on the AP showing when locking on a VOR signal, with a little more tweeking.
