Well spoken Tom. I am saddened to hear the news of Greg's passing.
Any measure of a man must include how he served his country and his fellow man. Greg Pepper did both in spades. Here in our virtual skies, Greg gave thousands of hours of discretionary time choosing to bless us with his creations, his works of art and his friendship. Just last night I had downloaded the HU-16 not knowing. Today, I honor its creator. My condolences go out to his family and friends.

We were all made richer by Greg's life, and poorer by his passing. Think I'll fly the CV580 tonight in remembrance.

Tom;
How many of us first got away from the "default" FS a/c by downloading one of Greg's creations.
Some ancient cultures have a sense of Immortality that depends on what memories or artifacts a person leaves behind for others to use, enjoy and build on.
Certainly, Greg is immortalized by his generosity and creativity.

How unfortunate for us all. The community has lost a giant. He will be missed, although I take comfort in Kevin's sentiment above- PS: It is neat to know that his spirit will be alive and well in our virtual skies.

If he was a friend of yours Tom he must obviously been a real nice guy and I'm sure he was. Sorry to hear of his passing, I only knew him through seeing his name mentioned on various forums and downloading some of his aircraft, I'm sure his name will live on for a long time.
My regards Col.

Tom, I just saw your post on Greg. I have lost a friend and a part of me. I had the privilege of helping him in a very small way with the Stratocruisers he created. They put my best efforts to shame and I know the sims he built are among the very best ever made. I fly approaches into St. Joseph in the C97 every day just to keep current, ha.
What a wonderful tool the Internet is -- permitting like minded people to share their hobbies, savoir-faire, skills and stories, at a speed approaching light - to meet others that one would otherwise never share words with.
Having firsthand experience with the disease he had I take some comfort knowing that he went in his sleep without pain.
Greg ended an email to me back in 2003 with: "Gotta start my day so I'll catch ya later. Have a good one. ...greg"
God be with you, Greg, and I hope to meet you in the grand adventure we will all experience by and by. Dave McQueen
ps- Tom, do you know how old he was?

Hi,
Thanks all, I knew you would appreciate knowing.
Dave, I don't know. He was still working, so probably around 60 or 65?

What a sad day! I've enjoyed many of Gregg's creations through the years and his models inspired me to do things I didn't think I ever would. My condolences to his family and friends. I never "met" Gregg online or in person, but as others have said, after a while in this community you get a sense of person in their loving creations.
Tonight I'll take up one of his proud birds and sail off into a wonderful sunset somewhere deep inside this fantastic virtual world I enjoy so much and know he is somehow there with me also in the experience.
Fair winds and Following sees Gregg, you will be missed.
