Hi Tom,
thanks for the recent updates to all the Twins and to FSAviator for the excellent Twin-Tutorial.
I gave the Martin 404 and CV580 a quick try and found both very nicely done...if challenging at times. The only possible handling quirk I saw with the rather "sporty" roll rate in the Martin. Was that based on real pilot input or simply on the math behind the wings/ailerons and so on ??

Tom,
Tried the 440 and so far no crash -although I was about at the place where it crashed before, but had to leave for Easter dinner at relatives. Did notice that while on the ground before leaving, the MTOW was showing less than the MLW. Later into the flight it was showing the opposite.

Hi,
OK, I found the problem with the MTOW displaying less than the MLW. There was a problem with the code and the data. That will be fixed in the release version.
Thanks,
Tom

Tom, Okay, I give up...I managed to get both the 340 and the 440 into Gunnison without a crash....(I also am using real time weather - not sure if that could change things...) Marv

Hi Tom,
trying out the CV-440 I do not have any VC textures at all. Were they possibly not included in the test downloads ??
Great looking reflections on that screenie Marv...I have sent you a PM hoping you could e-mail me the ENVMAP file you use.

I wondered about those textures in the vc as well...and couldn't work out whether they were just very slow to load or missing, but as they fly so well I just scrolled through the view to the next one.
Wonderful work and Thank you!
Andy.

Hi regarding the CTD with the 340, some 2002 textures have incompatible light bmp,s that will cause CTD at night ,dawn ,dusk I come across this problem with the dc6b as well if you load a flight at night and it has a CTD as soon as you switch on the lights it is almost certainly the light bmp,s in the paint job of the aircraft rgds Edd

Hi, I guess I'm the ONLY one that has this problem with the radio stack in this bird, but when I mouse-over to dial up the frequency I need, the number (100 Mhz range) just keeps adding digits to the left ....and there seems to be no end in sight as to it's coverage. I don't really need a radio to contact the Klingon Empire, just one for Earth. It really could use a patch...or did I just miss something entirely? At any rate, the digits should probably stop before we get up to the radio-telescope range. If it can be done, it would also make a great opportunity to change the "x.5" incrememts to "x.1" increments, so it wouldn't be necessary to switch radios to use it in other countries, too. I'm putting in the DC-3 default and give her a test flight (AAL CV-240). Thanks for all the work on the flight dynamics and rearranging the packaging. That couldn't have been easy....or quick. MUCH appreciated! ;D Yours,

Hi,
Randy, I'm not seeing that behavior here - when I get to the max frequency, continued clicking brings it right back around to the lowest possible frequency. If I can't replicate it, I can't fix it! You are using the radios in a strip along the top of the window, right?
Yes, the VC textures packed with the 440 have the wrong name. They should be renamed from:
340-3.bmp 340-4.bmp
to:
440-3.bmp 440-4.bmp
I'll upload a new version later today; thanks.

Thanks Edd for the explanation re the CTD issue. I tried to re-create earlier, but it all ran well. Then I read your post and remembered that the crash I got was when the light was changing, early in the evening.
Tom, if the VC textures are a work in progress, I'd rather not comment further until I've seen the final result. If it's a while, off, so be it. The updated FD are great, and I'm enjoying the challenge. I've tried adding a few re-paints, just to check out that process and try the different models, with complete success so far. The only proviso is that people read the file about adding repaints. The business of changing the sim= line is a trap for young players.
Wonderful work. I'm looking forward to the final release.
Cheers, Mike

Hi Mike, Everyone, the vc texture,s are something I have been working on to try to improve the VC in the convair's they are work in progress but would like feed back on them ,I have not done any work like this before so it is a learning curve for me and need the feed back so as to know weather or not to carry on down that line or not ,these convairs are lovely planes and we have excellent flight dynamics for them also the exterior models are great but the vc is now getting a bit behind the rest of the aircraft feedback from all greatly received ! the texture's are in the united 340 regards Edd

Hi,
Thanks all for the kind words. Glad you are enjoying them. Edd is right - if we get no feedback on the alternate VC textures nothing more may happen with them... What we need now is an opinion - are they improved over the originals (in the 240's) or not?
The 440 with renamed VC textures has now been uploaded.
Marv,
In future please resize your images to 800 x 600 pixels or post them in the Screen Shots forum.
Thanks,
