Bernardo, I believe the NumPad keys only work for FS9 as shown. In FSX, try the following. Go to the default A321 plane; copy out all of the CameraDefinition sections in the A321's aircraft.cfg; paste them into the Starliner's aircraft.cfg (at exactly the place where they are for the A321); in the sim go to VC view and hit A repeatedly, this should cycle you thru all the camera views (I think, but you may have to look up the special FSX view commands in the FSX doc itself.)
Good luck, Manfred

Manfred thanks for replying! I have done as you say, I had it like that since the suggestion came up in the forum. But when the new views came up I copied the entries posted in the forum and deleted the ones from the A321 Then I noticed nothing had changed and I had made things worse, for me at least Now I have copied them back into the Starliners.cfg and all works as it should. I have loaded the Starliner as you suggest in 3D view F9 and cycled through the views. I haven't put in the new lines because I don't know for sure where they go in the .cfg file My views go as following: 1.loaded in v/c 2.right seat 3.center Consol 4. overhead 5.cockpit view I can't find the FSXdoc that talks about the views, I can find a readme but it doesn't say anything about special FSX view commands

Bernardo,
Well, I can't make Andreas's views work in FSX either. One can use the camera definitions of the A321 I suppose, and adjust them so that they look back from the cockpit towards the engines in Aircraft View mode, but that is strictly speaking an external view only. I don't see any way of changing the view angle within Cockpit View, unless you change the general viewpoint but then the VC becomes unusable. Anyway, go to the Main Startup Menu > Learning Center > Views and Windows to find out about all the options.

Hi,
I don't have FSX loaded, but I was sure you could define several VC views, some of which could be looking back at the engines?

Hi Manfred and Tom: Not being an expert, I 'm afraid I did go to the learning center to find out about the views; Learnt nothing if it. I'll leave it as is, it's a great aircraft you all know. As is is very satisfying to fly in FS. One day the only thing missing wouold be having the real thing parked out here in my driveway. I'll wait till someone comes out with a viable and easy way of adding the view to the window de ;)finition in the panel.cfg...

Hi Tom: Thanks. But this is way past my league I'll need a few days to look at this and see if I make sense of it, by trial and error. I just bumped into another issue my forward/left view form 2D panel is missing! I get front panel after pasting the new views posted here in the forum, something is missing...I think, unless is me doing something wrong? ...By the way I got the views, I think? By panning backwards from 3D after adjusting the view i.e:Ctrl+Enter; Ctrl+Return:Shift+Enter;Shift+Return and panning with bottom in the joystick. Is this the correct method?

I just bumped into another issue my forward/left view form 2D panel is missing! On the v/c version; Right view is there, both left/Right backwards views are there too, only left forward is missing and the 2D panel comes up instead. The view outside does change, though, behind the 2D panel.I'm perplexed I've been checking the texture folders to compare and see if a texture BMP is missing, but can't see anything... It's like this with all my textures. Help please...I'd hate to have to reinstall it, it took me so long...

To Manfred and team,
This beauty just keeps getting better. I've been re-installing FS2004 over the last 4 weeks and using the Starliner to test out my installation of the Classic sceneries. The more I fly it, the more I want to dig deeper into it's many advanced features, making the experience even more rewarding. I'm now using the "views" posted ealier in this thread which I think are pretty much perfect, and also using Diego's VC textures which I think are a small but worthwhile improvement. Thanks, Diego. This is the first plane that has made me think VC's are worthwhile, but I also like the modified 2D views, which give me a nice 90 degree view to the side.
I have, if I may, 2 suggestions for the next release. In the 2D panel, I can't operate the speed brakes without first going to the VC and slipping the undercarriage lever to neutral. It would be nice if the gauge for the undercarriage lever in the 2D panel could operate the same way in both 2D and VC. Also, I love the screen wiper in the VC - would it be possible to have the same switch and wiper operating in the 2D panel?
Lastly, I may have found a small issue in the VC. In my installation, when I look down at the light switch panel to my left, the switches have done a "Rocky Horror" and jumped to the left. Well, forward actually. I find that the nav and beacon switches line up with the landing and taxi light switch labels etc. Each switch has jumped 2 positions forward, and on the co-pilots side, 2 positions back. Has anyone else had this issue, or is it just me??
Once again, many thanks for the latest version of the Starliner. Nothing equals it.
Cheers, Mike.
PS, to all those who've published addons for "our" era of FS since I departed the scene last October, I'd also like to say a very big thank you. To have so many "new" old back dated destinations to fly in and out of is awesome. I have only one installation of FS2004, with Silverwings, and I only fly planes that I can find on Tom's page, so now I never have to fly (using one of the huge number of liveries for my Connies/Convair/Douglas DC) in or out of an out of period airport. Just wonderful, guys.

I just went back and scanned through the forum for the 2D panel views i.e. v/c views. I found a post that says if I remove the fix window entries at the top and bottom of the panel.cfg...I should get them ?
Is this possible...And in V2.2.??
And if yes which are the fix window entries???...

I just went back and scanned through the forum for the 2D panel views i.e. v/c views. I found a post that says if I remove the fix window entries at the top and bottom of the panel.cfg...I should get them ? We had definitions for 2D fixed windows in an earlier version, but once we had the VC version we deleted all reference to them. You can still dig them up and use them for the "novc" version I suppose, but you have to be very careful with the file and path statements in the "novc" panel.cfg. Must check this. The speedbrake should of course be operational in the 2D panel. (Edit: try *pulling* it, or turning the mousewheel.) As for 2D screen wipers - I know somebody who spent a year or so on creating them, but he didn't want to share ... and I gave up on them. Jumping switches? Good heavens! Not that I know of, but will check... Thanks for reporting that, Mike. Manfred

Thanks for the reply, Manfred. The speedbrake does operate from the 2D panel only after you've first been into the VC and moved the undercarriage lever to the neutral position. Then you can go back to the 2D panel and operate it from there. It's not a big issue at all, but it seems to me you're trying to make the 2D and VC cockpits emulate each other, and it appeared to me to be something to think of for the next release. I tried your suggestion when I first installed it, and cursing that it wasn't working, I quit FS and RTFM, wherein it's use was explained. D'OH!! But as far as I can see, the U/C gauge on the 2D panel doesn't have a neutral position. Is this correct? As to the wiper gauges, my idea was based on the possibility that the same gauge would work in both VC and 2D, perhaps slightly modified. I don't have a clue about XML gauges, and my only experience in panels is one I built back in FS2002 days for the Convair, which is still at AVsim. I have found an XML wiper gauge at AVsim (wiper-gauge.zip), so perhaps that might work. Or is this the same one you allude to?? I don't have an XML panel editor, otherwise I'd have a crack at this myself. I plan on getting into some panel work properly when I retire anyway. Re the jumping switches, if you need a screen shot of what I'm seeing, please send me an e-mail. My address is available at left. Cheers, Mike.

Points noted, Mike. Yes, I believe there is no neutral position for the 2D u/c gauge. We'll have a closer look at it when we revise the panel for the 1049 release.
Have PM'd you for that screenshot.

Thanks Manfred. That will be great if you can attend to it. Whenever you can is fine with me.
I'll be sending you some screen shots in just a few minutes.
Cheers, Mike
