Hi,
Some things I have found for Dallas Love airport.
1. There are no approaches in the GPS, so this is a VFR only airport. You can Import Stock Approaches (ADE Tools menu) and edit the ILS approaches to runways 13 and 31. Delete all RNAV and GPS approaches. The approaches will not look OK in ADE (due to the lack of waypoints) but looks fine in FS. If you try to import waypoints ADE will crash. 2. There are people hovering over the center finger observation area (set at 16m). 3. The area around the cargo building does not match historic aerials or the Dallas pics that Mike has posted in the other thread. Mike and I are working on that, if you are interested. 4. The double hangar in the GA area is much too large and should be set at around 0.6 scale, so it fits next to the two oilspots.
Hope this helps,

Hi Tom! Thanks for the notes.....I´ll take care of points # 2 & 4, should be an easy and quick fix...... regarding point 3, you´re right, with Mike´s screenshots I noticed some differences on the cargo area...seems the 2 large hangars I included are not suposed to be there, and a large grass area is depicted next to the TTA-MXA gates and cargo building....I can do something about it, but if you or Mike have already a plan and are working on it I have no objection...any help is welcome! please let me know if that´s the case Thanks again for your support.

Tom & Juan,
Forgive me if this is already covered above, but flying into KDAL this morning, the 36Loc seemed both out of alignment and stopped short of the 36 threshold. Thanks! John C

Hi Juan I have sent you several files and some textures for you to evaluate for KDAL based upon my photos, many of which I uploaded on the Classic Chat forum concerning the JFK assassination anniversary. I have moved all the cargo parking out and re-sized the hangar at the northwest apron where you now have cargo. That was the old GA area. I have built from scratch the main freight building, the heating/cooling plant and office, the firehouse???/airport garage, and the international arrivals building. Any roads needed have been altered and moved. The apron in the vicinity of the cargo/international arrivals has been changed. A dedicated MATS parking spot has been placed adjacent to the International arrivals building, as Air Force Two makes a stop once a week there on Sunday on the way to Mexico City. A dedicated Mexicana parking spot with Mexicana airstairs is now included. I would suggest adding the Mexican airstairs and any Mexicana freight/passenger Econoline vans to KSAT as needed due to Mexicana landing there as well. Tom helped me with ADE (I'm not so familiar with ADE) to add approaches for runway 13/31 and make it an instrument runway. A small southern airport road has been also added. I added here and there some Econoline/Corvan freight and passenger vans around the airport, and a Checker Aerobus at the terminal. I added a few of the classic people such as Delta and American and Braniff flight crews. Tom came to the conclusion that as per the International Arrivals building, there must have been some type of courtesy vans for luggage and people to pick up passengers who deplaned and passed through customs/immigration. There is no way that any airport would force people to walk from the front of that building, around the freight yards, through the employees entry gate, and across the main road to the parking lot/taxi stands carrying luggage and tired after a long flight; especially with Dallas' notorious horrible weather. I have sent you the bgl files and textures. I also wanted to say if that one hangar south of the terminal turns out to be the TTA maintenance hangar, and a photo of it is available, I would be more than happy to make it. Mike

Hi, Here are a couple of things I have built and added to Dallas Love Field after having found the 1962 overhead photo and those postcards. Near the end of runway 31, is the Continental Airlines maintenance hangar and the FAA building. Looking at the International Arrivals building from the street side with the freight building and fire department(?) or airport vehicles garage in the foreground. The Kennedy photos showed red vehicles parked in this area, but I could never find out exactly what this garage was. Mexicana used Econoline vans to transport passengers and baggage from the customs and immigration International Arrivals facility to the terminal and parking lot. At the freight building a Delta freight "Econovan" waits for a load of cargo so it can then proceed over to the Delta gate area. The apron view of the International Arrivals building, with the freight building, the airport garage and the airport heating/cooling plant and office in the background. Mexicana airstairs greet a Mexicana DC-6 just in from Mexico City. In real life, Mexicana would have stopped in front of this facility, let passengers out to go through customs/immigration, and then it would have taxied over, or more likely, been towed over to one of the departure gates at the end of the red concourse where that Continental Viscount is parked. But it can't -- its just one of the many desired things that FS does not enable to happen. Other minor changes have been made to the GA and North airport area, along with a few Classic Airport Vans and some people here and there. What a really super airport this is and fun to fly in and out of! Mike

Here is an late 60's early 70's postcard showing the Continental Airlines maintenance hangar area. The old main freight building, the International Arrivals building, that overflow parking area just south of the red concourse and the heating/cooling plant and office have all be torn down for this new Braniff area. Continental has built its own freight building, and the FAA building remains. With those slab brick walls and narrow slits for windows, it looks like a jail for pilots! I see what looks like a Pan Am 707 parked at the Braniff area.

Hi All. Thanks a lot Tom and Mike for your help , this is agreat addition.... Yesterday I recieved the last update from Mike and was fully merged into my version with no problems at all....changes look just great....I added a new airport polygon to fit the fixed GA hangars on the NW side. I fixed some landclass issues at some airports previously reported by other members, now I'm in the process of adding the new airline vans that Mike created for the CC libraries V3.....I saw some of them already on KDAL, so I'm going to other major airports like KSAT, KHOU, KATT, KELP, KAMA...etc. ------------------------------------------------------------ For Mil-Simmers ......here's some quick updates * Mike Pearson has released an excellent F-102 AI package on avsim...includes TXANG TF/F-102's, so Kazunori Ito's aircraft will be replaced with this new models for better performance * MAIW has recently released an AI KC-135A with animated refueling boom on the early SAC metal scheme ...I'm looking forward to replace both 707-138's I included with this model. --> Suggestions are accepted. All the best!

* MAIW has recently released an AI KC-135A with animated refueling boom on the early SAC metal scheme Hi Juan, In which MAIW package this model has been included? It's seems to be quite a while that MAIW released them. Thanks for your advice. Cheers, Bernard

Hi This model was released on Oct-30, but it's tricky because is not posted on the MAIW packages main page...you must go to the forums.... Here's the route: Board index » Official MAIW Support Forums » MAIW Contributors Hangar » MAIW Non Package Releases » MAIW KC-135A Model OR, use directly the *search* option and type -MAIW KC-135A Model-...it will take you to the thread where you'll find the download link. Good luck.

The Owl's Nest has a way to get it directly as well: www.interkultur.de/gossmann/fsx/Once there click on, "AI & Flightsim Sites" Then, "Military AI Reference" Scroll down until you see the line: "Boeing KC-135A Stratotanker base package MAIW MAIW MAIW 9 x - - US " Work has been keeping me busy, but I'm doing what I can with Juan. I managed to get him some T-33 and T-28 updates a few days ago, so just hang in there!
