Hi Manfred, Sorry to have slightly changed your masterpiece. Indeed I have clarified the cockpit, too dark in my opinion, and it is awsome ! : Flying at night is a great pleasure. ;D Thank you again... Jean-Michel

Jean-Michel,
How did you get the VC so bright? I like that...

Hi Tom,
Add the red line in the aircraft.cfg
[Views] eyepoint=40.2, -1.73, 1.94 // VC
[SMOKESYSTEM] smoke.0 = -0.9, -1.35, 2.95, fx_vclighth //Add vc lights for day use

That's listed in the text file. Modesty prohibits me from... Ah, that's how you add a vc light effect in the day time. You will lose the fuel dump effect, but that's OK, I never need to do that. Thanks,

I don't know if I want to download this now. I've gotten myself too excited over the last couple months.
;D Just kidding, that would just be silly

:)Thanks Tom: I running FSX in Vista 32, and yes the folder squeaky breaks is outside the ADDON VCON 30;Even though is there I don't hear the pilot or copilot calling out the signs: "Falps 60; Flaps 80" or any of the others???The wavs are in there too... ...And another question: When I use speed brakes the main landing gear deploys and the plane slows down dramatically; Great effect! But when I use my spoiler key to retract it, nothing happens an it runs into the ground; I can use my joystick assignment key for the gear or "G"...Is like it gets stuck and there's nothing doing

Hi,
Just double checking - both the squeaking brakes folder and the ADDONVCON30 folder are present in the main FS SOUND folder (FS2004/Sound), not the plane's sound folder, right?
I'm not sure what could be wrong; perhaps it's an FS9 vs FSX thing? Anyone else hearing the voices in FSX?
The speed brake lever (and thus the spoiler key) is only a release lever. You must use the Gear Up command to raise them.
Hope this helps,

Wow, wow, wow.....this is by far the best airplane in my hangar. Freeware or Payware. I can't say thank you enough. I did fly her around a little last night and came away with even more admiration for the entire team around Manfred that put all this effort into something that they gave away to the rest of the community. I did notice two small things in that flight. 1. In the VC in late dusk twilight I suddenly had for lack of a better term a black window apear infront of the AP ALT and HDG buttons. That would disappear while for example changing the heading selection and then re-appear. 2. After flying the 1.1 version for quite some time now I am used to bringing power back in 3" increments from cruise before initiating the 700ft/min descent. KIAS obviously drops a bit while in level flight but it appeared to be roughly as in v1.1 The strange thing is that it seems that KIAS drops more once the descent actually begins....as if there was a speedbrake already deployed. Is anyone else noticing either one of those

Not to detract from your question Sunny, as I don't know the answer...I'm just curious if the individual who put together the paintkit might have the windows as a separate layer. As it is right now they are part of the same layer as the metal background and doing a multiply layer for a livery (to preserve the lines/metal underneath) changes the color of the windows. I can just create a windows layer by erasing everything surrounding the windows, but I'm thinking it might save some time if there exists a copy of the windows separate from the base metal layer.
Muchas gracias...looking forward to painting this dolphin-bird!

I have repainted V1.1 for my VA....and basically I did just that. Lift the window frames first from the main background layer and copy them in their own separate layer. Then paint as usual and as long as the frames layer is higher than the paint layers everything comes out nice and clean. It just takes a bit of prep work...like any good paint job

A big thank you to Manfred and the rest of the team, the new Starliner is fantastic ;D ;D. Took her up for a quick spin in FSX (SP1) before I had to go to work and no problems that I could see right off. Textures looked great and the VC is just awesome . Exhaust flames, gear and flap animations, speed brake, fuel dump, and all basic systems seem to be working in FSX. Love the call-outs, adds nicely to the immersion, but one question. On my system they seem to be a little loud, any way to lower the volume without changing my FS sliders. Looking forward to trying a trans-Atlantic this weekend. Al
