These look great. However, why do you have smoke coming out of the ship stacks when the ship is on the berth? that wouldnt normally be the case.

The library only has models that have smoke - there are no others...

So, any plans on releasing these harbor sceneries to the public or at least the CC group? You have inspired me with these harbor renditions and while I could attempt to duplicate some of this myself it would seem such a wasted effort after seeing what you have done.
thanks Al

I guess you mean this building? en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Prudential_TowerI am afraid I would not know Boston well enough to know what to erase and what not. Even in NYC I only removed the most obvious (WTC and a bridge I think).

WHY would you have the Pru in the scenery? It wasn't built until 1963 You are welcome to list all buildings and sites in the world, which shouldn't appear in FS classic! Or even better, you create excludes for all these objects. But seriously, until it wouldn't be entirely reworked, FS classic remains a world of compromisses. Ant that begins with 90 percent of the airports . So in the meantime either we try to live with or do excludings it if it's really intolerable. I already excluded a couple of sites timely not appropriated. Cheers, Bernard

These look great. However, why do you have smoke coming out of the ship stacks when the ship is on the berth? that wouldnt normally be the case. It is a simple task to select certain ships and not have them emit a smoke effect. 1. Create a new folder and call it something like No_Smoking_Ships. 2. Create two new folders inside that folder, one called "scenery" and one called "texture". Place this "No_Smoking_Ships" folder in your addon scenery folder in FS. 3. In FS, go into slew mode and hover over the ships you do not wish to have emitting smoke. Hit the space bar to position your aircraft to true north. Move to the upper left corner of the ship you wish to have no longer smoke. The smoke emitting box is actually on the top of the smokestacks. Don't get too close or to far from the ship/ships. Now with Exclude Builder enter these coordinates. Now slew to the lower right corner of the ship and enter these coordinates. Check only the box that says "exclude effects". Create the bgl file, and move it into the scenery folder of your "No_Smoking_Ships" addon scenery "scenery" folder. 4. Close FS. 5. Start FS, go to the World Scenery Library and add your new No_Smoking_Ships scenery to your addon sceneries. MAKE SURE that this new folder is above, or higher up, in the hierarchy of scenery folders. It must be numerically higher than the folder than contains the scenery with the ships you wish to have non-smoking for this to work. 6. Close FS 7. Start FS and now those ships that you created an exclude file for will no longer smoke. Be careful not to create too large an exclude file, because this will exclude all effects in that given area, such as blinking lights, beacons, etc.

But I just had to find out that excBuiler does not work on my W8 computer, even with admin-settings. InstantScenery (that I normally use) does not allow to exclude effects only.

Too bad you don't have an old computer that you can use not for flying, but just for running these older software programs, and create exclude files and then transfer those files to your new scenery.
I HAVE SEEN exclude files exclude effects in the same folder as the objects are in, but I can't remember how it's done. It may be that the exclude file needs to be listed alphabetically so that it somehow appears to be read first before the ships placement bgl is read by FS when FS starts and loads scenery and priories. Perhaps Tom has some idea on this. This happened to me last year by a mistake and now I have forgotten what it was that I did that caused it. Normally these excludes need to place in a higher scenery level than the folder with containing the objects desired to be excluded.
There must be some other program that creates exclude files that will work with Win8.

Both SBuilder and ADE9X will create excludes. Maybe one or both programs will run on Win 8. You can also create the excludes using xml in notepad and compiling with BGLCOMP.exe. Don't give up because excBuilder won't run on Win 8.

Does SBuilder create object excludes? I thought it only did terrain exclusions.
