Yes Tom it does create object excludes. Click on the Exc button just to the left of the BGL button. Draw the rectangle and then select what you want to exclude. It's so easy that even I can do it.

I just uploaded the sceneries of NYC Harbor (including Newark), Boston, Hong Kong and Sydney to flightsim.com and avsim.com. Expect them to be online in 24h. Special thanks goes to Mike Stevens and Mike Hudson for their ships and Bernard Leuenberger who helped me a lot, particularly with NYC.

Hi, I added animated wakes to one of the static ships Sabi released some days ago. The tool "weffect" is available here: www.flightsim.com/vbfs/fslib.php?do=copyright&fid=112832. It's more or less easy to handle. The positioning of the wakes at the right place needs some several changes of the coordinates in the XML file. Cheers, Bernard BTW, a question to Mike: Classic_ships_library includes a freighter of China National Shipping Lines. I couldn't clarifiy whether this company was based in Communist of Nationalist China. Maybe you could give me some further informations. Thanks.

Here is an idea,
DUMP WINDOWS 8!
The changes made in the base code breaks a lot of things, in my opinion by design. Windows 7 is as far as i will go, one of these days I am going to build an XP system only for Flight Simming.

This is why I will never change from XP.

Unfortunately, while I will maintain an XP computer for my FS9 setup (and for programs that are not compatible with later OS's), I will have to get a System 7 computer for my Internet connection, since it is expected that hackers will target XP once it loses MS support in April 2014. According to some, hackers are stocking up on XP hacks, just waiting for the day...

My solution was two computers. One, a high speed gaming computer with only XP that is used exclusively for FS and scenery design. Then my old dinosaur computer for the internet. When it goes, I can get some other computer for the internet. Trying to get FS and periphery programs to function on Windows 8 (a total failure!) is in exercise in frustration. Oh, and by the way, it is directly because of Windows 8, among other issues that Steve Ballmer was ousted last week from MS. That still does not help flight simmers nor other gamers that Ballmer threw under the bus....

I've explained to my wife that it's ABSOLUTELY ESSENTIAL that I get a new W7 laptop before the end of the year for internet use and of course powerful enough to run a backup FS9.......... We'll see what Santa thinks. Bill

These classic liners and cargo ships are beautiful. They are a great addition to the scenery ! I remember the fun times we had in the fifties sailing on them. I was of course just a little brat, 6 or 7 years old, so these ships in my eyes where enormous floating castles. And I did not realy know where we were sailing to, only that the endpoint was Holland - and the last part of the journey could also have been by plane..... I recall being on a ship called the Santa Monica and my brother and I had a great time exploring it. Here is a picture I found on the internet. It was a combined cargo/passenger vessel of Grace Lines, an American shipping company. Ahhh, sweet memories Cheers, Jaap
