Hi,
The deice controls will indeed now be in the VC - you can see them peeking out behind the right hand grip of the yoke. The yoke itself will be lowered a bit (eventually) so you will have full access to them.
Hope this helps,

Hi all, I've been working on the Convair VC, and this is what I've come up with so far. No night lighting yet (until the gauge layout, etc. is final). Here is the default view: Here is the view of the new overhead: And here is the view of the entire main panel and pedestal - the levers (including parking brake and carb heat) and the elevator trim are all draggable, but nothing else on the pedestal works: I'm just poking along with this; it will be a while yet. Take care,

Tom, I don't know how you did it, but danged if you didn't!! That's looking more like a fully functional and complete virtual cockpit! Will you be able to stick the radio stack in the overhead as well?
This also brings up another question. If you can take the CV-240/340/440 cockpit, which was only a 1024x512 panel, and turn it into a full virtual cockpit, can the same be done for the CV-580?

Hi, Thanks for the kind words. I am just a hacker compared to Manfred, Jens, and others, but someone's got to do it... On the real thing the radios were on the pedestal, and I don't know if I will be able to do that at this point. For now the RADIOS clickspot will bring up the radios as usual. Or in version 2. Re: the 580. This VC would certainly make that easier, but that would come considerably later, unless someone else wants to tackle it. The GMAX file for the VC will certainly be available for anyone with GMAX experience to adapt it to that plane.

Keep on hacking because it's looking great! I wish I could help, but you are talking to a guy that thought GMAX was the name of a discount store.

Hi, Well, I decided to look at putting the radios on the pedestal. By using my typical hacking technique (in this case breaking up the DC-3 radio), I've come up with this arrangement, which I've seen on a few Convairs: Update: Please see new picture later in this thread. Take care,
