Hi Tom,
Very nice indeed. A great enhancement for an old favourite.

That is looking great! I just had the opportunity of having a look at the Dc-6b VC and it is better than ever! Great job Tom! Soft Landings!

Hi there,
I have just noticed that from below the airplane [the cv240] and looking up towards it, if the cowl flaps are open the inside shows green. Perhaps it's like that to remind us to keep the cowl flaps shut and NOT to open them to try to decelerate when coming in to land !
Ho Humm.
Andy.

Hi, The green color is the typical color of a primer used to protect the inner surfaces of things.

Hi Tom,
Looking at the VC panel again, there's a weather radar near the pilot's right knee. This is just a suggestion, but is there any chance of putting a gauge in there, perhaps the weather radar gauge from the CV-580 panel?? I know that might make it incompatible with FS10, but it would be great for us FS9 users. Maybe commented out in the panel CFG for the release version, so as not to make life awkward for FS10 users??
It's just a suggestion, and I certainly don't want you to go to any extra trouble on my behalf. I've had a look at Flightsim.com (a much improved site, BTW) but can't find any FS10 compatible weather radar gauges at all.
If you need any beta testers, or plan on releasing a beta version as with the DC-6, I'd love to be involved, when you get to that stage.
Cheers, Mike

Hi Folks,
Thanks again for the nice words - you are very kind. Yes, there will be a beta - it will be announced on this forum. All are welcome to try it out.
Re: the weather radar - it's my policy to not add any FS98 style gauges to the current KMCC panels, to keep them FSX compatible. The weather radar in the VC is currently not on a "gauges polygon". I could certainly add it and include the line in the panel.cfg file for the radar, but commented out (if it fits there). That way a user could activate it manually, if desired.

Hi again,
I found the "green cowl flap hole" problem in the 240's - it will be fixed with the next update (with new VC's).
Thanks,

Hi Tom,
What you suggest for the weather radar is perfect. I'm happy to manually activate it, as with the supercharger on the Dougs and Convairs.
Cheers, Mike

I can hardly wait to see to the beta and the finished product. This is what the Convairliners have needed for some time now.

Hi again, Well, now I've gone and done it. I was just going to experiment and see if I could do a minor upgrade to the pedestal, and one thing led to the next, and the next... Here is the current state of the pedestal. Everything works (unless noted below). It now has (from top to bottom): Textured (but non functional) switches and red switch guards. Throttles, Carb heat, and Mixture levers. Elevator trim and Parking Brake (red handle next to trim wheel) Prop RPM switches and lights. Autofeather and Supercharger switches in proper locations. Autopilot and COM1/NAV1 radios. Reverse T-handle, with warning placard. Trim/Marker sound/ADF strength meter. COM2/NAV2 radios. Rudder trim knob. ADF1/2 radios. Aileron trim (out of picture at back of pedestal) You can also see the working radar. I ended up making an XML gauge that can be used on most aircraft with rectangular screens. It consists only of the screen itself. You just click the screen to turn it on. I still need to do the VC rain, etc, but it's closer.
