What's different between the Barn Door model and the C-131A with cargo door?

G'Day All I agree with every one else, the new 240 will be most wellcome. The only down side is what about my treasured repaints and model updates ?. I suppose that as they can never all be seen side by side no one will notice and I can keep both models. It's a lot to ask for someone to re do all those Mohawk , Trans Texas and TAA schemes etc. and at the risk of sounding pedantic, can I assume there will still be the excellent Cal Classics V.C. ?. Trev. (vhbob) Hi Trev, Mohawk and TAA are amoung the liveries prepared by VBF. Trans Texas is on the todo list. After our prepared liveries will be released, we will offer a paint kit. And don't worry, I can assure you that Calclassic's VC is included in the packages. Hans

Hans and Team,
As a huge fan of the cv-240 series, this is really great news. Especially to get the Consolidated Vultee Aircraft Corporation House Livery as well the FAA.
Any way the torque-meters could be added to the VC panel? There is room for them.

G'Day All
Thanks for the information Hans. I too am looking forward to the release of the 240. As an avid collector of repaints, I will greatfully accept most schemes anyone wants to apply to the Convair (especially US freight dogs). The T.A.A. aircraft has a fond place in my memory as they were the first of the new generation of post war airliners imported into Australia despite restrictions on the amount of $U.S. that could be spent. I still recall onlookers being amazed at their initial climb rate compared to the more usual DC-3 and the quite evident smoke trails produced by the R-2800s.
Thanks again, Trev.

Glad to see more interest in the Convairliners! Will these new, updated models also be FSX SP2/Acceleration compatible?

;D ;D ;D
Now, if someone at VBF would tackle the Martin 202, 202A and 404, I could die happy!

May be will give some thought to this item in the future. ;D ;D ;D Now, if someone at VBF would tackle the Martin 202, 202A and 404, I could die happy! Marc @ Marc: Unfortunately VBF is not familiar with the Martin aircraft family. Cheers Hans

Well, not surprising as it was not nearly the seller that the Convair was. I just always loved the lines of both of these great old a/c. Marc By the way, I'm headed up to Calhoun, Georgia later this afternoon to pick up my mother for Labor Day weekend. There is an old Navy T-29 up at Mercer Air Field that is in the process of being demolished.

There is an old Navy T-29 up at Mercer Air Field that is in the process of being demolished. Hi Marc, a Navy T-29B is on the assembly line at VBF too. It is painted in the livery as preserved at the Smithsonian Institution's National Air and Space Museum. The model will show only 3 astrodomes as they were typical for the B-variant. The cutaway for the first astrodome was covered with a plate. Cheers Hans
