Manfred, I refuse to jump on the bandwagon and tell you what a superb job you are doing on this and all the other vehicles of priceless interest and good times, I stubbornly resist the impulse to absolutely gush over every little thing you do for us. NOW that I have that out of the way, you and your group do absolutely fantastic work! It would make a nice 67th birthday present in June, hint hint! Thanks again for all you have given us. Don

That NARF bird begs the question- Did they carry full-size lifeboats slung underneath like the SB-17s did?

What a beauty this will be... very, very close to a good reason to switch over to FSX...

What a beauty this will be... very, very close to a good reason to switch over to FSX... One sole bird spring doesn't make. At least for me. It's a shame I won't be able to use it, because it IS very good, but I will survive using the MAAM ( that isn't a slouch either). My point of view.

Fair enough Ashaman, I think the MAAM version is excellent myself, and it has a VC, while mine hasn't.
Qar02, much sooner than Easter, hopefully.

Well...as I recall Manfred was at least thinking of making a FS9 compatible version of this beauty. So if unlike me you think VCs are useless FPS hogs and can live with a 2D panel only there may be something here for you anyways.
I have FSX though I rarely use it....but this bird sure has enough going for it to make me clear some hangar space for it in that Sim.
If there is a FS9 version in the pipeline I probably would continue to fly MAAMs version if there is no VC. But it would make one pretty AI-bird ;D ;D ;D

So if unlike me you think VCs are useless FPS hogs and can live with a 2D panel only there may be something here for you anyways. Hope, spring eternal... As about VC's... I find them quite useful in VFR planes. There, in those planes, having a VC really gives more an impression of " being there", especially if it's a functional one... it's NOT an optional, but something that can make the difference between " a winner" and " another plane". IFR planes... a little less... they may be of some, limited entertainment during long flights, but in the end I fall back on 2D panels for superior accuracy of gauges reading. An IFR bird with no VC but with an excellent 2D panel is a winner, always. The DC3 being one of those planes that straddles the border between the two uses in a way, would be better WITH... but I can definitely live with one without VC, if the rest is well done. My point of view, of course.

Hi,
I am still with FS9 and therefore will not be able to partake of this wonderful looking bird until later...however I will just add that I don't use the VC now for any airplane and have used Doug Dawson's View Skip gauge to get rid of them.
Glenn's C-87 is what I crash in now.
Andy.

Manfred;
That's encouraging...starts to narrow it down.
One definition of hell is being so close to something that you want and not being able to reach it.
Looking forward to this bird.
Thanks, again, for all that you have done!

Hi Manfred Not sure how much help it might be but I have something called a 43E-50 (?) propellor at our farm. I believe it came from a DC-4. It apparently is a little larger than those found on DC-3s but very close in form and configuration. A little hard to photograph with all the snow here but I might be able to manage something if you needed it. Warren
