That's some finaly crafted scenery. I'm sure it will keep us busy for awhile. I am starting to feel my FS9 world is truely transporting me back to propliner era. Very nice work Mike.

Hi all, As promised, here is Mike's rendition of Avalon Bay, about 10 miles south of the land airport on Santa Catalina Island. First an overview of the dock and town area: Here is the Avalon Air Transport dock, with the blue harbormaster's office and white AAT ticket office: And finally here are the ships that Mike has created for Avalon, the Great White Steamer, S.S. Catalina, which sailed from San Pedro to Avalon until the 1980's, and the S.S. Phoenix, the world's largest glass bottomed boat. Both are sporting the flying W flag on their smokestacks signifying they are owned by the Wrigley family, which owned and ran much of the island for many years: Mike still has a few airports to go on this project, so please be patient...

Thanks Tom and Mike. Now I can comfortably fly to Catalina (I remember being a little sea sick on the ferry back to Marina Del Ray)! Looking forward to this superb release.

Hi all, I have decided to release Beta 3, which fixes a problem with the Short Solent flying boats in storage. They were originally in the AI package, which caused problems for people that do not have CA59/62 installed. So I have moved them to the CA59/62 package instead. But the side effect of this update is that you should now also get all of the new scenery pictured above that Mike has done so far. www.calclassic.com/Temp/ca592k4_beta3.zipLet me know if it all shows up OK. Enjoy,

To finish this scenery, I have to:
1. Finish and complete Fresno for both the 1959 and 1962 versions. 2. Rebuild Long Beach airport and the Douglas facility. 3. Backdate Torrance and Hawthorne California airports. 4. Now that we have a photo of the new Stockton terminal, it will have to be built for the CA62 scenery. 5. Add a few bits of this and that to some of the airports.
That's about it, I think.

Great job. Catalina is awesome. Tough fog bound approach. I did notice that Lake Tahoe has taxi signs and default buildings in the woods. I do not have K Fox's south lake Tahoe installed so I checked the cal core folder and notice there were no xktvl exclude files in this beta package. Just a heads up. Thanks for the terrific scenery.

Hi, Looks like I missed a few files. Here is a small update that provides the missing files. Copy these files into the FS/Addon Scenery/CalClassic Core/scenery folder. If it asks to overwrite, just say Yes. www.calclassic.com/Temp/CA59_B3_Update.zipThanks for finding this,

Absolutely enjoying the updated California scenery. I did notice some missing files for San Diego (old terminal, missing hangars, fence, etc.) and Big Bear Lake (still has asphalt where it shouldn't be). It appears some more of the updated files didn't bundle into the Beta. I will keep looking and will report back if I notice anything else. Thanks again for all your work.
Have a Merry Christmas everyone.
