Thought I'd start a fresh thread on this. Have just finished the landing lights using 3d reflectors, not that it's so very noticeable, see below. Otherwise a major update of the textures is under way. I am currently in the process of coming to grips with Photoshop, which I have finally obtained. I'll see whether I can do some renders from within Photoshop, as can apparently be done, but it may slow things down a bit. As it is I am on three graphics programs now, the others being Paintshop Pro 7 and Xara 5.

Man, that sure looks... real! I can hardly wait to try her - I guess next time I'm in Brussels I'll take some close shots of the C-47 at the museum there...

Thanks guys, we'll see how this pans out eventually.
You won't remember this but one of my earlier attempts at handling the Gooney was to do a repaint of 15619 based on the MAAM version. The files were lost at avsim, and over here as well, but I remember I bent over backwards trying to get those "photoreal" natural metal surfaces. This is no longer how it is done following FSX technology as described in a section of the SDK called "New Aircraft Techniques". Quite an interesting read ...

Got 15619 in my hangar. that's good advice, even for fs9 paints.
